Living The Secret

Updated on August 21, 2009

So I'm sure a lot of people have read The Secret or seen the movie. I first saw when I was going to visit my mom at Fedex Kinko's. It caught my eye but I never really thought about it. Then someone brought it up on hub pages and had a link to the trailer. As I watched the trailer I got more and more freaked out. Could my whole life really be based off of my pessimistic thoughts of the world and all who inhabit it? I mean that is a scary thought..Thinking that I am the one responsible for all my good and bad luck over the years...So I decided to test it out on small things first. I have to great of a fear to try it out of things I really want..Its that pessimistic thought again..Saying "Life can't really be that easy...Can it?"

Put it to the test!

Last year when I was going out with this guy I had given him my necklace- Its kind of like when people give their loved ones a promise ring- After we broke up, on bad terms, he said he had forgotten about it and lost it. I immediately started thinking "That bastard for sure sold it!" The necklace had an angel on it and it was real gold. It broke my heart that he would lose something that meant that much and then never talk to me again. After watching the trailer for The Secret and thinking some good thoughts. My ex talked to me and the next day he text me saying he had found the necklace in a box! It is around my neck right now!

Another weird thing was I had been getting this call but I kept missing it. Once when I answered they asked for Brooke. I was like "I'm not Brooke" and hung up. When they called two days later and once again asked for Brooke. I ignored my irritation said "I am not Brooke. But what is this call regarding?" They said it was for a talent audition! I could not believe it. I told them I was an actress and they signed me up. I'm going on Saturday!

Pessimistic turns Optimistic: Sounds impossible

Even after some proof. I am still struggling with this. I have just never let my self be truly happy and say to my self "I love life!" or "Things work out!" But I know I should start. I do believe this book is for real some of the great people in history knew about it. Like Albert Einstein. He was a brilliant man and must know a thing or too. I plan to try this out for real. And maybe make another hub about it. I think that everyone should read The Secret. You deserve the best in life and with the write attitude you will have it.

If you use this you should read "Beyond the Secret" It tells you how these things should be used to benefit your spirit instead of your ego. I adore that book! :)

The book was very interesting; I read it last year. I've basically lived my life to this creed for some time now, so it was a comfort to see the validation in print. Great hub.

I've just finished reading the book and find that I am subconsciously taking small actions to reach my larger goals without even realizing it. I've just started but am looking forward to seeing the results.
