In Ancient Greece they worshiped many gods. There was a god for almost everything in the Greek life. This is a list of the main 13 gods who lived on Mt. Olympus and the things they were gods/goddesses of.

Main Olympian Gods

Zeus - King of the gods. God of the sky and thunder.

Hades - God of the Underworld and the dead.

Poseidon - God of the Sea and horses.

Hera - Queen of the gods. Goddess of women and the hearth.

Athena - Goddess of wisdom and battle strategy.

Aphrodite - Goddess of love and sex.

Hermes - Messenger of the gods.

Ares - God of war.

Hephaestus - God of blacksmiths and weaponry.

Dionysus - God of wine and drunken rivalry.

Demeter - Goddess of nature and spring.

Apollo - God of archery and poetry. Twin of Artemis.

Artemis - Goddess of chastity, the moon and the hunt. Twin of Apollo.
