Para-Professionals: A Silent Power
Silent Power
They are the Silent Power in the classroom whose pay does not represent their worth.
Many of them have degrees and great, natural teaching abilities that often go unnoticed or don’t get the credit they so richly deserve…
Many of them suffer in silence because they are not allowed to utilized their innate gifts in assisting the children.
This poem is for the Silent Power who doesn’t get to take a bow when the children they have affected stay on pace and graduate.
This is For You who don’t mind remaining anonymous while respect for your contributions continues to get overlooked and not recognized.
Stay in the shadow if you must ... Continue to be the background music that only the children you have assisted seem to hear...
What you have done, what you are doing, regardless of those who don’t recognize or appreciate your value must never stop…
Those children depend on you, those whose egos are not under house arrest also depend on you, because of your strength and natural ability to reach the mind of the children, with ease and convictions...
Next time you feel unappreciated, or overlooked, or given some assignment that doesn’t promote your growth, remember that You have Silent Power and it shows through your resiliency…
It shows through the smiles of the children around you, the success of the children under your commitment and dedications to them.
It’s not about degrees or titles with you, because Paper don’t make results, people like you do.
These words are just a reminder, Keep on Being You, many look up to you and many respect your Value and Worth in a Classroom Setting.
Keep on making a difference because knowledge was here before college and you are a testimony to that truth.
