IELTS(International English Language Testing System) is the world's leading test of English for higher education, immigration and employment. Below are some sample questions and answers for this topic.
1. Do you work or are you a student?
-I go to _________high school and it's very crowded
-I am currently a student at Ningbo University. I have been a student there for 2 years and will graduate in the year 2014.
-I’m a student from Yingzhou High School, which is the best high school in Ningbo. The education there is top notch and a lot of famous professors in China graduated from my school.
2. What subject are you studying? Why did you choose to study that subject?
-I’m studying mathematics, which is a really challenging subject. I always feel a sense of achievement when I solve a difficult math problem…
-I major in business, which is a really difficult subject. To be honest, I don’t really like it but my parents think it will help me in the future, it’s practical and useful in getting a job because many companies are interested in hiring students with a background in business.
-I major in accounting. I didn’t choose this subject. I was forced to do it by my parents. My father has a business and wants to take over the company in the future.
3. Do you like your school? Would you say your school is a good one?
-Absolutely, I study at Ningbo University. I would say it’s the best Uni in Ningbo,..
-I’m in high school and it’s great. I have many friends and we often have a great time together. The school has good a learning atmosphere and our teachers are very knowledgeable and have a good sense of humour.
-I’m not a huge fan of my school. Teachers give us too much homework, which is almost impossible to finish. I also find learning there rather dull and boring.
4. In addition to gaining knowledge, what other ways have you benefited from your school/university experience?
-My university activities allowed me to make a bunch of friends who are very diverse people. Hence enriching my campus life and improving my social and communication skills. It also built up my confidence in public speaking.
5. Is there anything you don’t like about your studies?
-Studying could be quite tedious, sometimes you have no choice but to cram…
-Teachers can sometimes be way too strict. There are too many rules which we should follow.
6. Which subject do you like the most?
-I my favorite subject is science. It is fascinating because it tells me how life works. It’s also quite useful to me since I want to be a scientist.
-I’m really into math. For some reason I find it really interesting, though it could be because my teacher is quite funny.
