PLANTING SEEDS - GROWING SPROUTS
Do you live in a house that has excess land large enough? Or, you may be the person who has a garden or plain land lot but do not know what's going to plant? Could be, you are the people who care about the environment; around you there are a lot of idle lands -- no man's land; If the condition are overgrown by grass, it's good for the land to be planted with productive plants. But how? Has it occurred to you to plant all seeds of the fruits that you have bought in the market, so that from these seeds will grow shoots new fruits, which will be ready also to fruition some time in the future?
Who would have thought, tamarind that you bought at a stall in plastic packaging; if you throw the seeds into the soil or planting saplings will grow tamarind ? If you do not believe;
•provide a land on which you will cultivate (dig and hoe as deep as about 5 cm);
•after the tamarind used in the kitchen, lay the seeds and put a little down the soil surface; water it every day.
•You will see, within the next few days, the sprout of the tamarind will show to the surface (the leaves come up in small pieces like parkia speciosa Hassk).
•Let the new plants grow taller, then move them to the deeper hole about 20 cm.
For more practical, this activity can be done in polypack – a plastic media which function to grow seeds, making it easy to move anywhere;
•Fill the plastic base (around half of it) with soil in advance;
•then put the seeds are to be planted;
•after that, fill more soil until the polypack is full.
•Regularly water the them in the morning and afternoon near the sunset.
The same as above, you can also do to get orange and papaya sprouts. But, the emergence of the sprouts onto the surface of the land takes a little bit longer than the tamarind above. We have to be more patient. Clearly, if the seeds are planted, God willing, they will grow.
To grow the seeds of avocado, mango, and durian; there are some conditions need be considered; when laying the seeds of the fruit above on the soil, make sure the head unit of the seed (the place to grow the stem) is facing upwards. If not, the fruit will not be able to grow well. It took about three months to see the seeds of these such fruits to appear completely above ground level.
To grow zalacca seed, need more specialized treatment. It will be better if the seeds are planted (laid) directly to the hole (around 20 cm) on the land. The first way, is the same to the way as mention above. Only, in the next step, the one which will be the layer of the the seed is not the soil that has been dug, but some white sand – the sand used for building materials. If the layer for the seed is soil, to my experience, the seeds of zalacca will not grow to a sprout, and even the seed planted will rot after some time.
Not quite two years after you do this, you will see fruit seeds you planted grow into young trees to a height around 2 meters if you have it on good soil. And papaya, no need to wait until that long, since a little after 1 year of the period, you will already be able to pluck the fruit.
It would be nice if we meet our environmental premises productive plants like this. Never hope for the return of everything that you will do. Any good that is acquired by another creature from what we planted, although it is enjoyed by the beasts, we will get the reward from the Almighty. What more can enjoy it is human. There must be the fruit it produces, clean air released by the trees since the dawn till the afternoon, and inhaled by all who live, will give grace for the surrounding areas.
After successfully with the fruit seeds above, we can continue the experiment on the seeds of other fruits, who knows your favorite fruit will be grown in front of your house, so that, some years to go you will no longer need buy fruits at the market, because all has grown up in front of or behind your house.
It is very easy for fruit nurseries; stay if we want to do it or not, would not be time consuming. Everything will be back on our own, whether to do it or not. Do not ever let any of our land vacant of productive plants. At this early stage, plant the crops which commonly used for kitchen purposes; such as lemon grass, ginger, galangal, leeks, celery, and so forth. Then try to plant the fruits as described above.
