Star Jelly, Mysterious Phenomenon. Do You Believe it?
When I browsed internet yesterday I found great information related with Space. I really shock hear this information. Actually this was happened not in my country. This is like mysterious phenomenon. Why I said so, because this is came from outside of the earth. This thing was came from space. I think this is nice topic to talk. And from the report it shown it US and Australia. I think many Hubbers from US and Australia or maybe other country know about this phenomenon.
We know that meteor very beautiful when seen from Earth. Probably not many of us who know that meteors also leave substances such as jelly is often called Star Jelly.
Star jelly is like a gelatinous substance that is believed fall into the earth carried by a meteor. This phenomenon had been known since 1641 and is one of the most mysterious things in the science history
Witness reports about the discovery of Star Jelly
There are tens to hundreds of reports found clumps of gelatin on the ground the day after the appearance of falling meteors or meteor showers.
For example, in 1950, a large lump was discovered by Philadelphia police. Police had described about these things with forms like a disc with a diameter of 1.8 meters. The thickness around 30 cm in the center and about 5 cm around the edges.
Still according to the police, when it touched this Jelly soon turned into foam and vanished in the air. The night before the found of star jelly, many people reported the existence of a bright meteor passing in that area.
In 1994, the people of Oakville, Washington reported a "rain gelatin" occurs in the region.
On November 3, 1996, a large meteor seen across the sky Kempton, Australia. In morning, the residents found the clear jelly in the yard and sidewalks in the city.
Scientific theory of Star Jelly
There is a book reveal about star jelly theory. The Book of British amphibians and Reptiles, written by M Smith. He clearly explained that the Star Jelly is actually the remains of the frog oviduct. Oviduct is the reproductive tract in the frog's body that produces a jelly substance. The animal which produce the oviduct not only frog but other animal like mammals that eat the frog usually leaves the oviduct and then turned into jelly when reacting with air.
Another theory is Nostoc. This is kind of water cyanobactery. Which potential to form colonies in open areas. In ordinary conditions, this colony wouldn't be seen by humans. But when the rain falls, Nostoc colony will turned into a lump of jelly

I just want invite all of you to discuss about star jelly. Especially for Hubbers who live in US or Australia. Where is the place the star jelly was found. Have you ever heard about star jelly information before. Or one of you as a witness who looks the real of star jelly by your eyes. Or had watched this information by television. Please share with us! This hub is always open to all of you.

we had a lot of rain 2 nights ago and woke up to find this "star jelly" all across our back patio and into the garden area....strange stuff....very cold to the touch...it's still here 2 days later...quite a mystery as to how it got here.
I found about 16 of these blob like masses in our backyard today. We have had a lot of rain. I took some pictures and collected a sample. I'm trying to figure out what it is.......
Hi ,Prasetio,
My name is Koldo, and I live in Orbaizeta, basque country,in the pyrenees.I found this sustance in november 25 2102, and I wrote in my blog:
http://iratiforest.blogspot.com.es/2012/11/the-str...
near this place there is a pond with frogs, but here nobody saw before something similar, and I ask a expert wordens and biologist .
Congratulations for your blog.!!
This was very interesting. I have not heard of this before. I don't know where I have been as I am very interested in all things in the heavens.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Sending you many Angels this evening.. :) ps
I first saw this interesting phenomenon on the Discovery channel last night and found it very fascinating. Also found a connection between star jelly with meteorites, but also red rain. Red rain contrary to misbelief doesn´t come from the middle east but from meteorite explosions as they strike the earth mixed with rain. Upon Lab analysis is revealed that these red rain particles DNA, but of another form. Let´s say not native to earth organisms. Same with the space jelly. The DNA revealed is of single cell organisms, not tadpoles larvae, but highly heat resistent simple DNA forms not native to earth, brought by asteroids on the outter reaches of the solar system. Like Mr. Spock says...very fascinating indeed. Life does exist elsewhere, as this data reveals....
I'm Khalid Student , and I live In small village in south of Morocco . In this village There is a light from an unknown source is grown terror among the population . and If you are interested in such phenomena like this one ...

I have actually come across some this weekend and managed to bottle some of it. The Rest left outside evaporated within 2 hours. Ive been keeping the substance on ice for the past two days. Not sure what to do with it. Any suggestions?
I have also had a recent experience in Tasmania, Australia. After a heavy storm last night I found a jelly like substance that was pink in colour it had a slime covering that coated the ground where it was laying. I poked and prodded at it with a stick and put salt on it as a friend suggested I try as I was a little freaked out by it and the salt melted it into a slime like substance. I wipped it up with tissue and hosed down the concrete and once it dried it left and oily like stain. Very unusual never seen anything like it. There were also little ants eating the slime around the jelly too. Is there any more good sights you could reccomend to do some further research ??
Its the 8th Oct 2011. Northern Ireland. I was in the garden this morning, and have some of this gel on the grass, just like the second picture above. I though it was strange and began to investigate on the net, thus I have ended up on this site. Rare looking stuff for sure.
I'm very interested in this. Although we feel we need to know everything, i truly hope this will stay a mystery for a long while. It can be fun not knowing, imagining what could come of it. And if it is something amazing, then thats even better. Thank you for sharing this!
This happen to me about 3 years ago..I was outside on my back deck having a smoke and this star jelly almost landed on me.. Landing on the the deck just a steps away It was about 16"long 3" wide it took about half an hour for it to disappear Its always been in the back of my mind and just doing some research on it Mike
my back yard is full of this stuff, what do I do? last night I took the dog out in the rain and fell on my back side in the mud.... when I took the dog out just now I actually saw what I slipped on, what is this stuff??
I have found similar samples from time to time. Finding a dead frog beside some of this jelly has convinced me; see here http://thisteacherslife.wordpress.com/2009/11/28/s...
After a strong thunderstorm last night, we found these blobs on the lawn. I have pics here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pondlady/sets/7215762...
I have no idea what to do with it. Ten hours later, it is still in place.
The blobs of jelly don't look like anything produced by amphibia. Have you considered slime moulds?
we found star jelly tonight outside on a table it looks just like the scotland photos, so we took pictures of it and put it in our fridge, but it seems to be evaporating away, there was a meteor shower and a thunderstorm. we only had cameraphones so we dont know what to do with it? any ideas Thanks tarinn
I found globules of this stuff on my deck, driveway and lawn this morning, after a night of rain. While googling what it might be, I found this page. It is very interesting stuff and quite real, whatever it is.
they already proved that it is not amphibian jelly.
What about the case somwhere in US where this substance was raining during the day, and what, that was also because of frogs and such.
I dont think this is a substance coming from any amphibian only because the "jelly" does not contain any cellular matter or "eggs". If you see pictures or see forg jelly eggs under a microscope you will see "egg" shaped cells....that are not present in star jelly. I think it is amazing that it is always present after meteor showers. And people want to say that it is because of FROGS!?? C'mon people!
Glad to have helped out. :)
Glad to help out the page, though science explanations for Star Jelly can only be attributed to those falls that have a Earth-based background. After reading through the various documented jelly falls through history (which I've added to the paper I'm working on about the Stellar Squids, etc.), only a few have a terrestrial foundation. The rest are clearly related to SP1.
Star Jelly is actually the bodily remnants of what I called Stellar Squids, aka Space Phenomena 1. You can see them in great detailed in the must-see video "Secret NASA Transmissions Vol.1 - The Smoking Gun". NASA has known about this race of squid-like creatures for years. They live all around the Earth in space and the upper atmosphere, and act like large reef fish from our oceans. Their size ranges are vast, with the bigger ones being quite big. Like squids, octopus and cuttlefish, they can communicate by flashing their bodies in different light patterns, can propel themselves at high rates of speed and have a gelatinous body that clearly changes shape when they move at quick speeds. A perfect description of body shape, with the loss of the two nub-like protrusions below the main body, can be found in a Star Jelly fall from 1950 in Philadelphia. "a domed disk of quivering jelly, 6 feet in diameter, one foot thick at the center and an inch or two near the edge that glowed." When you watch "Secret NASA Transmissions" and see SP1 in their natural environment, you will come to understand that astronomers are not telling us the whole truth concerning space. It's not a vast void devoid of life, but a dark sea filled with it. And the Stellar Squids (my name for them) are just one of three NASA knows about. There is also SP2, or what I call the Rainbow Darters, which act just like little quick moving reef fish in how they zip in and out while feeding on the certain metal elements of the former russian space station. The amount of wonderful life in space around the Earth is fascinating and something NASA needs to be sharing with the world, not hiding it. It's a xenobiologist dream.
How strange. Good subject for a hub
This is the first time I've heard of this. Very, very interesting.
Never heard about star jelly before, prasetio, thanks for the interesting info
Very fascinating, prasetio. I've never heard of this before. So for bringing this topic to discussion. I think that much more must be researched...The "frog theory" sounds too simple. Were that the case "star jelly" wouldn't at all be a phenomenon, rather a common occurrence! Thanks.
Very interesting. I haven't heard this story at all or anything related to it. However I would love to hear or find rest of information. If I come across any, will come back to let you know.
Thanks for bringing to our attention.
No doubt the topic is interesting but the matter is not known to many except few. Human knowledge is developed to a great extent but still insufficient to know the vast space of the Universe. Peoples’ knowledge is only remaining limited with the study of few planets such as, Moon and Mars, a little bit and not the questions of knowing the innumerable stars of the sky. If it is stars’ Jelly what kinds of elements were present in the Jelly is not analyzed or not known. The scientific knowledge that has been acquired so far in compare to the vastness of Universe is that in the tone of Newton that may be said as if the human beings are playing with few pebbles on the Sea shore and not advanced even a footstep at Sea.
VERY interesting! Never heard of it before? Thanks for this interesting hub. Best, GPAGE
Wow, a very interesting subject and I have never heard it before. Thank you for an enjoyable read.
I actually never heard of that before. If it is produced by frogs you would think people would see it when there are no meteors around. They probably do but no one mentions it.
