Strange Things about Earth
Gravity and Bones-
The bones in our bodies are flexible and adaptable to gravity changes. The bone material is constantly changing and adjusting to the environment. For example, if a man were to live on a planet with a lesser gravitational pull, his bones structure would adjust to carrying less weight.
Earth is Growing-
The planet we grow in constantly growing. Meteors and debris from outer space fall into our atmosphere and continuously contribute to the growth of our planet. The Earth is estimated to grow by about 20 metric tons every day.
Life on Earth-
Every ingredient of living matter cannot escape the atmosphere. Every chemical element or atom that is part of living matter will be recycled endlessly by the earth but never let go into the universe. In the grand scheme of things, the atoms making up your body right now may be part of a rock, a tree, a street sign, an animal, or another human at some point in time. Ecosystems recycle matter within themselves. Perhaps this is why many people choose to be buried where they were born. This way the family is born into new life together and the natural balance is kept.
The Ecosystem-
The many ecosystems on our planet are perfectly balanced and very sensitive to change. One change in an ecosystem always has consequences and can potentially threaten the entire ecosystem altogether. For example, when a new species is introduced to an ecosystem, it will only survive and flourish if another species becomes extinct. Sometimes, introducing a new species can destroy a large variety of species.
