This is a dedication to the sun, and its light in our lives. This may seem like a strange topic to write about, and share pictures of, but bear with me here a moment. We need sunlight, very obviously. Our whole earth does, for its sheer survival. I think we have never known a time without it, so we can so easily take it for granted, can't we? We just come to expect it day after day.
Well, every winter, or even other times of the year when we tend to get stormy or cloudy weather for days on end, we notice the absence of the sunlight. Of course we are never completely without it, and get the UVB rays, etc. Something within us can really begin to miss it if we go too long without it. Perhaps you have felt what I am alluding to? So while these photos and these ideas are certainly not meant to take the place of our precious sunlight, it can be helpful to view such pictures during times of the year when we are short on sunlight. For me at least, photos like these remind me of the beautiful sunlight and nature that I hope I never take for granted.
Coping with the Winter Blues, or Seasonal Blues.
It seems more and more people are discussing the feelings they are having during the times of the year when we are lacking in sunlight. You may have heard of SAD, or seasonal affective disorder. Without going too much into that right now, it is said that some experience this disorder, or associated feelings, when the sun and its light seems to have been absent, or not able to be viewed for whatever reason. It is a very real thing for people. Some have purchased special lights from doctors, after having them prescribed! This light mimics sunlight, and a person doesn't really look into the light so much, as much as they just have the light on as they are doing their regular activities. Some people report that they truly feel better after using it according to the manufacturers and doctors suggestion! This is simply incredible I think!
So it makes sense, that we may feel down after many days of being away from the sunlight. For me, photos like this remind of of times where I know I will be seeing the sun again, and give me a little lift. Then again, as my name suggests, I am already a lover of sunsets at least, and perhaps this is why, in part!

Photos of the Sun, Reflections, and Nature
The photos you see displayed here are simply meant to be enjoyed, to share some sunlight that has been captured by various people in various places. There are many more photos here than initially meet the eye, so make sure to view them all by clicking on one of the larger images and going through the arrows to see a "slideshow", or by simply clicking on all the smaller squares, one by one to see the thumbnails. Its more of a display of nature, which as always, is made possible by sun or moonlight usually.
Since it is currently one of the times of year here when the sun can appear to be hiding out for days at a time, I thought I might share with others something I truly enjoy, simple sunlight in photo form. While I love to capture my own photos of sunlight, I am so grateful to others that captured these images as well, and put them in the public domain. Perhaps we all share at least a love of sunlight with each other, a great thing to have in common!
Wishing you many days of happiness and sunlight ahead!
