The best quotes in life often occur when you have to defend yourself.There are always people in life who have a witty remark or put down. sometimes you wish you had said it, but you cannot always remember them!

Here are a few famous put downs. Many cannot actually be attributed to one person in particular, but are just generally a throwaway gags, although I have included one of my favourite quotes from the great Winston Churchill.
