The Downfall of American Values

Well, the times are unprecedented in today's American society. While the world moves into a new Socialist role, America is the one lagging behind. Right now we see more and more anger and dissidence from the modern day Americans, who refuse to see the light of a new world order. We have moved into a stalemate with the rest of the Socialized first world nations. America is in a rut. A rut that will stall us out while we fall apart. Americans are now turning on each other. I was talking to someone the other day on the Internet, when out of the clear blue the man went ballistic. It would seem that this disconnect between most American citizens is coming to a head. Respect has been lost. It is a commodity that is on its way out, here in American society.

When I was checking out a forum the other day, I witnessed several people tear apart a young women asking if it would be a good idea to move out of her house and look for public housing. As she had a young child. These people instead of sticking to the rules of this forum, which was only to give advice. They instead proceeded to rip her apart. Calling her every name one can even fathom. From a welfare whore, to white trash, to a government mooch sucking the penis of the American government. I was utterly shocked and appalled to see how Americans now treat the people who are down on their luck. They feel bad enough, and are having a hard enough time dealing with their current situation. Now to deal with these blatant aggressive allegations is almost enough to drive a civil person to the edge of suicide. As well, the other day I was posting a question on a website I often use. The question was have you ever used foodstamps. Well, I will say all the answers to this but two were honest and well thought out. However, these two were pretty radical. The first statement was a common one we hear, and part of the problem here in America. The user stated "No, I have never used food stamps. I do not think people who have Internet, cell phones and cable TV should be allowed to get them though. These are luxuries. People who have paid taxes in the past should be the only people who receive them." Well this is the problem with Americans today, they feel entitled to the poor and middle classes money. However, any entitlements for the people struggling should be stripped from them immediately. Here is the problem, and this is the problem that the people with this claim do not even care about or consider. As I gave the user a chance to change their stance on this, after I explained this story. I went on to explain my story about a women. This women was in a car crash at a very young age, and in this horrible crash her family died. She was left paralyzed for life. She could not work due to the brain damage she received in the crash. As well, because her family died, her few remaining relatives despised her, wondering why a baby would live when the adults died. She lived her life in a home for the disabled, and she witnessed atrocities in this home. At the age of 19 she used government assistance to leave the home, as she wanted to be independent. She cannot go look for a job, and actually she fills her life with the computer and television. She explained to me when hearing of the people who have this position about her, and her so called "luxuries". Without them she would shrivel away to nothing. These so called "luxuries" are her only means to the outside world. While she does have social workers helping her on some days. The most part of her life is watching T.V and looking at things on her computer. She has not paid a dollar in taxes in her entire life. Now, some say she does not deserve to eat because of this. Anyone in their right mind will agree with me, and that she lives in America, and in America we pride ourselves of being the most powerful country in the world. So our citizens should be entitled to such things, especially when due to such a tragedy, right? Well the whole reason I brought this example about here is because someone else said wrong. The next person claims they have had it up to here with the way things are going here in America. After hearing this tragic story that person finally unleashed this sad truth. As this is what this person had to say regarding this situation and I quote. "I would sooner starve than to make a deal with the devil. For people who know how to survive and are taught lessons of self preservation there should be no reason to accept anything from the EVIL government." I know there is a chance that this poor women could read such a response, and it makes me sad. Sad to think how some Americans are treating people in who they view they are better than. Now I have come to the point. The downfall of American Values is directly related to the class system here in America. A system that tell the middle classes that they are better than the lower classes, and the higher classes that they are better than the middle classes. This is the problem with America, and it is what the rich are now using to really divide us so they can finally fulfil their ultimate agenda.

This system was ultimately created to make people strive to get the most out of life, as they possibly can. A truly fascinating way to make competition, and for the individual to strive for excellence. However, like many things it can be exploited, and today has been exploited with a vengeance. What has now happened is the rich have gone so high they have the ability to cut off this competition. It is a common saying in sociology that one cannot achieve the status of the upper upper class, as this class is old money. This was the beginning of the end. When you are able to keep people out of the ability to attain a higher class, you have undermined the system entirely. So now we see the problem. This is why America refuses to follow the worlds example by moving to a equal opportunity socialist state. These are the principals that America was founded on. The constitution even states that "all men are created equal"

So, where have the American values gone? It is all to often that we see this total disregard for respect. Unprecedented things are happening in America right now. We have saw guns taken to the presidents speeches. We have saw signs comparing him to Hitler, and we have saw signs that call him a niggar. One has to realize this did not start with the president. It started when people started disrespecting each other without even a thought. A few weeks ago, I asked a question here on hubpages. The question was about what does a good hub score get you, and if there was any good traffic here on hubpages. Basically what are the benefits of it. The response I got was. "That's a dumb-ass question" we have become the most ignorant intolerant society since the Germans of the 1920's through the 1940's. As well, I asked a question about how is it right for Florida to not allow a vote to ban offshore drilling, when the people overwhelmingly support a vote. Again there is always the guy who refuses to even answer the question. Instead they show their true ignorance. As he stated "you sound like a child with your crybaby/i want everything for free/ poor me/ expect everyone to be a slave/ live off the backs of people like me/ communist/ ranting / lunatic attitude. Now when I ask a question about a vote for offshore drilling, and I get a response like this, it is obvious we have a problem with American Values. Some have had it up to here, as they state, and I guess these people have had it with supporting the truth. These are the radicals that America should be very concerned with. All one has to do is look at a YouTube video, and look at the comments to see the disconnect between some Americans right now. I was looking at a racist video talking about WWII. This video was about a German soldier who racked up 300 kills of innocent people, in 6 months. When looking at the comments of this page, I saw one posted by a man who is serving in Americas armed forces. He was with a group called Black water. He bragged about beating this German soldier in kills by the age of 22 years. Now, when you look it is the Americans who support this. The rest of the world is sitting back in fear at what we are truly capable of. As for me, I cannot blame them.

The downfall of American values seems to directly correlate with the class system, as I stated before. I was doing a study of family members, when I came to the realization of just how bad this problem really is. When you realize that each family in America has these views where they simply strive to be better than the next person. It is a plague. It is one thing to simply strive to be better than the person beside you. However, when you start ranting on them, as I have showed above, this is where the problem presents it's ugly head. Americans now are not content with just being better than the next. They are now only content with mocking them, putting them down, and harassing them. If there is one thing I learned from my study of WWII and how Hitler created a society of cold blooded killers, this is the commonality. Soon the slurs, rants, and harassing is no longer good enough. It is then that the citizens will move on to more radical ways of getting their point across. In Germany, it resulted in the killing of over 10 million Jewish people. As well, another 15 million handicapped, poor, native peoples, and anyone they deemed inferior. I ask you, are we not Germany in 1929? Hitler began the slurs of their citizens. We have one thing going for us right now. We do not have a Hitler. However, what will happen in 2012, or 2016. Which as of right now, will directly relate to the starting of the killing of the Jews in 1941. We are there, and we need to turn back, and regain the understanding of the 1960,s. When Americans understood freedom "for all" not just the rich.

The bigotry is all around us. Recently a man on FOX news stated that we need to do away with the civil rights. We are seeing more and more Americans boosting their own ego's at the expense of others. This is why America fears socialism. The fear is related in the fear of truly being equal to your neighbor. Now if your neighbor is a women with 5 kids by 4 different men, you agree right. How are you expected to live by such a person, if that is equality then I do not want it either. Did you just agree with me? Well if you did I have just proved my entire point. We strive to be better than our neighbor. The far right call themselves "Conservative Christians", but they go directly against Jesus' teachings. I often hear the excuse, oh "that is impossible to live in such a way. So we need to just keep doing what we are, and not live in a fantasy world." Well if that is your argument then you are no Christian. You are a pretender. You are an Atheist, or have been brainwashed. What we see in America right now is precisely what the corporate conglomerates want. They want us divided, and the class system has always been the system to do that. I assure you Jesus would annihilate it immediately upon return. We are fighting amongst ourselves right now in such a disrespectful way, it is almost hard to fathom. Just go to a Tea Party rally and check out the signs. Then compare them to the signs of the 1960's. The sad part is in some cases these are the same people. So I ask you, what is going on here? The way people like Glenn Beck talk about how the president of the United States, as he quoted " This president I think has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again who has a deep seeded hatred for white people or the white culture" What is going on here?Why would they allow this to be played out on national television? Well, it all boils down to the key behind the Downfall Of American Values.

Greed, lies at the heart of this entire situation. I often hear the republican party talking about the trickle down effect. Something former Bush Senior called "Voodoo economics." We have seen that the only thing that seems to trickle down is American greed. The mentality of greed and corruption that runs so prevalent in American society. The corporations have saw Socialism cover the world like a nice warm blanket. Now as it creeps upon America, they have a deep seeded fear. This fear is now trickling down onto the American citizens. Now these corporate conglomerates are attempting to use the Tea Party to make sure America does not follow the worlds lead into a Socialist state. They are turning the Tea Party into a bigotry movement of racism, and no understanding for the underprivileged. Check out Racism In The Tea Party. It would appear that the next big war will be just like Germany, as Germany had a small alliance and chose to take on the world. It would appear that if the rich do not get their way, they will not hesitate to take America to war with the entire world as well. American values are on the decline.

American infrastructure is on the decline, and this directly correlates with our values. Our values are shifting to a mentality that we must build a billion dollar fence to keep out illegal immigrants. Rather than fixing the dams that are failing all across America. Recently, another dam failed in Iowa, but the Americans are too busy in overturning and dealing with the Arizona gestapo laws. While we sit here and complain on each other, dams are failing, bridges are crumpling, roads are turning back into the grass they were built on, and the ghettos are expanding. However, we are fighting to keep the Bush tax cuts for the rich. This is sheer ignorance. We are allowing our entire country to fall apart, just so we can allow the wealthiest 2 percent of the population to make more money. They have had these tax cuts in place however have yet to lift a finger to help with American Infrastructure. I always thought the deal was if we give them what they want they will help America. However, we are seeing the great lie, fed to Americans everywhere. It is the government that is so focused on making the rich happy, while at the expense of the entire Nation. Now neither are lifting a finger to help this crumbling Nation. It is not until these radicals fight for something that makes a difference and not for their own greed, and ego. It is not until then we will have success, and as of right now I do not see it in our future. Instead, what we are hearing is people like Sharron Angle telling Americans to use their second amendment rights to kill the liberals. This is not how we are going to fix America. People like this also want to dismantle social security. This is not going to help us in the end. In Germany they retire rich, and happy. However, in the most powerful nation in the world, I constantly have to answer questions on how to make another buck to support their retirement. So what is better, our system or the Socialist Germans? As well, the worker in Germany has more say over what goes on in the company. If this was the case then the BP disaster would have never even happened in the first place. So I ask you again what is better our system or Socialist Germany? In Germany no one fears a rising cost of health care, or losing their retirement benefits. I challenge you to buy and read this book by Thomas Geoghegan "Were You Born On The Wrong Continent" I have it posted for a cheap price on Amazon over to your right hand side. This book goes on to explain what real Socialism is to get Americans away from the fears of the fear mongering, that the right as claimed about European Socialism.

America is at a crossroads right now. On one side, we see Americans who do not listen, instead they fight, curse, and close there ears to anything proposed by anyone whom they consider inferior to them. On the other side, we see a great vision of human beings, where people are not judged they are equal. No matter what the allegation or insult they stand with their head up. Even at the face of fierce bigotry and insult they stand their ground. History has shown time and time again, these are the people who shall prevail. However rough it may get, and I see it being a very rough road. They stand their ground, they will recant their belief systems to no man. For they stand for what is right. They stand for the message that many good men have died for. Men like Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, John F. Kennedy, even Bob Marley. These men have all been killed by this attitude which is sweeping through our country right now, in movements like the Tea Party. Just remember no matter how hard it gets, no matter the slander, no matter they hatred these people put upon your shoulders, you are right. As in the end good will prevail, and good shall not stand in a greedy intolerant society. it will come to a head in one way or another. I see a new world emerging from the ruin. A new Socialist world were everyone is equal, and everyone will get a fair shake in society. If you chose to be poor you will be supported. Some people just do not get it, look at the Amish. They are often criticized because of their beliefs, however they only get stronger. When the class system goes then we will truly be free. When the battle to boost ones ego is a thing of the past, a new world shall emerge. A world of tolerance and goodness.
