The Millenials
It is obvious that every generation is different and that depending on the environment and the social and historic context each one of them has to live in, they grow to be somehow differential and distinctive. It is widely said that the youth of the present is the so called “lost-generation”, and, in fact, they are different, but not useless or enervating.
Owing to the fact that the world nowadays has become more globalised, even reaching to the point that we can talk with people from the other side of the world, I must admit that things have turned to be slightly easier. What I mean, is that we have all the information we need (or not) at the palm of our hands, and just clicking is how we get access to it. Therefore, it might be right that the youth need constant stimulation, but also, that, if they have the enough confidence and determination, they can rise and be the best they can be.
To a certain extent, it must be agreed that the today’s youth is rather autonomous and self-sustaining due to the reasons I have said in the previous paragraph, but is undeniable that this makes them more confident. Who would have thought fifty years ago, that under-eighteens would be able to travel around the world without being lost or lonely? Nobody, but, actually, they are capable of this.
In short, it’s a fact that society has changed, our world has changed, and so has the youth. Still, change doesn’t mean wrong, and if the youth nowadays is different, it is because they need to be different.
How would you define the Millenials?
