Ron Desantis Needs To Be Stopped

Here in Florida, we have over 2.5 million students that go to our public schools. There are now almost 15,000 new cases of Covid popping up overnight in this state.

So, apparently, Ron Desantis had the nerve to state that “children aren’t carriers” of Covid, when announcing that these kids are going to need to return to school on August 11.

Excuse me? I can’t be around my goddaughters for 5 minutes without getting sick with something. A cold, the flu, head lice, diphtheria, you name it and these kids are bringing it home.

Children Aren't Carriers

— Ron Desantis

So Trump And Desantis Get To Decide The Fate Of Your Kid?

So, when did that stop happening? Magically, while they were out of school? Oh, you mean when they were distanced from other children? Sort of along the lines of socially distancing them?

I know that there is a threat of losing federal funding for public schools if the children aren’t back in their incubators, er classrooms, next month, but damn, parents. If even 1% of these kids, staff, educators, or parastaff end up contracting and dying from Covid, that is a tremendous number.

So which of you parents are ready to sacrifice your children to test the numbers? How many of you have a spare kid or two that you’re willing to give up to big government so they can get their funding?

I probably don’t know much about raising kids, I’ll give you that, but if someone was asking me to send my dogs to doggy daycare, and there was an outbreak of Parvo...guess what? My dogs aren’t going. I would like to think that same mentality should translate to sending kids back into a classroom to become infected all in the name of getting federal funding.

The Desantis heckler, Thomas Kennedy, had the right idea. We need to call this asshole to the mat. If we aren’t safe to be in sports stadiums together, how in the hell is it safe to send kids back to school? So, our athletes need to be kept safe, but to hell with these dumb ass kids, huh?

Stop Ron Desantis. He’s a disgrace, and he doesn’t give a damn about your kids.

Youth Sport Can Resume Immediately

— Ron Desantis

So, The NBA Doesn't Resume Until March 11th

Yet, Ron Desantis has declared it safe for Florida children to resume team sports.

I guess the health and welfare of the children here are under different guidelines than professional athletes. Oh, there aren't different guidelines? Are you sure?

Wait, if the guidelines are the same for children, then why in the absolute hell would we send kids back out to play team sports? Why is it unsafe for professional athletes to be on the court or field, but it's totally safe for these kids to be out there?

You know, I am certainly not an expert in medicine. I'm also no expert in educating children. My background is in engineering. However, as a resident of Florida, I can tell you that people are walking around here with no mask and not a care in the world.

You really want to send your children back out around these clowns that aren't taking this pandemic seriously?

I'm urging you, don't be the guinea pigs for big government. Don't let Ron Desantis tell you what is healthy for your kids.

Parents, you owe it to your children to think long and hard about what you're willing to sacrifice so that the state can get federal funds.

This is not ok. This is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
