An extraordinary place that changes me, changes the emotions within my very soul, heart, body or mind. I like having these out of body experiences that makes me (and hopefully) others a healthier person in one form or fashion. The rich full story of two very different sisters, drama fuels this book from first page to the last page. The cast is strong and full of life; each sister is real and convincing. The emotions are high yet revealing and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed reading this book. I was turning the pages so fast because it’s a quick ride to a high place and then plunge to the depths of your soul hurting for these women. This novel is real and full of life’s twists and turns. The characters are written so well they jump out of the pages and into your mind and take you on this amazing journey that you don’t want it to ever end! The journey begins with two very different siblings and through the pages, your tears, angry emotions and salty feelings you find two girls that are very similar after all. This novel is excellent at its best!
Sarah’s Key by Tatiana del Rosnay
Be prepared, once you start this book you will never want to put it down. This author exposes a crime about the French Jews, about the Holocaust and what they did to adults and children. A secret that was kept, a life that was lost, and a haunting mystery of the French Holocaust are revealed in this book, one so sad you will shed tears. This novel is raw yet real when reading. You will feel the empathy from the author as you turn each page. The little girl Sarah and her key, the story behind the key, it’s compelling and so emotional. Remarkable book that should be read by all and remembered by the ones that suffered during this time, the Holocaust was horrible and we need to pray for the families that suffered. Regardless of the timeframe because there have been families that have suffered decades upon decades for what was done to the families during this horrific time period. As you can see, this book was based off true events.
The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a masterwork of fine craftsmanship. When I finished the book I was so sad because it was that good, my eyes were reading so fast to get to the end and then I hated when I was done!! The characters are too fascinating for this to be the end of the story. Apparently this was the first novel in a trilogy by the brilliant writer, Stieg Larsson, who unfortunately died in 2004. This book is the beginning and I can’t wait to read the other two, you will too find the captivating writings of this amazing author!
The Five Languages Of Love by Gary Chapman
I was engrossed to this book because the foundation of Dr. Chapman's Five Languages is very straightforward yet extremely important. With that said, this foundation is also little more than common sense. It doesn't take a psychology degree to know that we each have our own values and priorities, and different personalities triggers for happiness. However, the journey you will venture into while reading this book with change your life forever. The simplicity of understanding your partner’s love language will only make your relationship that much stronger or maybe not. But this book will give you the foundation of what you need to be successful with love. It’s truly an amazing book for all to read!
The Last Song by Nickolas Sparks
The movie portrays it about a young girl going through a difficult time but the book is really about a family as a whole and what they do individually to move their lives forward. This book is about faith, love and finding inner peace. The story actually surrounds more of the father’s live, how he grow up, what he did in his life and what he wants to change in his life. The story is written so beautifully by Nickolas Sparks that it changed my life! All parents what the best for their children and this book is the journey of a father’s life and how he came to be the person he wanted to be. You will cry, laugh and learn so much from this delightfully written book.
