Tree Hugger

Updated on May 19, 2025

When we look outside our window, what do we find?

Behold the lush greenery, majestic trees, vibrant bushes, and myriad plants in all their resplendent colors.

We are so involved in our daily problems that we forget to appreciate the beauty around us. The Almighty has surrounded us with so many different colors. We should take time to enjoy it while we breathe.

But, the question is: Who has the time or the mindfulness to appreciate it? Man is busy running to complete one to-do list and making another list. In this humdrum, he neither appreciates the oxygen in the lungs nor the body's mechanism.

Every breath we take is a precious gift from the trees and plants that envelop us. We are all integral parts of a delicate, interconnected web of life, and our actions reverberate through this intricate ecosystem.

Let's pause to express our gratitude to these silent, life-giving companions that sustain us.

I must admit, I've often taken the greenery around me for granted. I've assumed that we'll have greenery and oxygen as long as our planet has water. But the truth is, the trees and plants are not obligated to serve us forever.

What if they reverse God's Law?

They begin taking in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. With the increase in recombinant cloning worldwide, we could see a change in our cycle. This could inspire another science fiction movie in the future!

Thankfully, the above is just fiction, and I pray the Universe allows it to run as is.

Let's take a minute or two to appreciate nature. Whether planting a tree, going for a walk in the park, or simply pausing to admire a flower, let's consciously connect with the natural world around us.

We could be tree huggers and appreciate the tree for all it has given us: food, fresh air, and a healthy body. Every breath we take helps us tackle each problem in our lives. This breath is our saviour, just like water and food are. How about we extend our arms around a tree next time, hug it, and thank it for all the incredible things we enjoy today?

Appreciating all that we have today will make us see it as a blessing tomorrow when we are low in spirits. Contentment leads to gratitude, and with that comes appreciation. Remember to express gratitude to the trees, plants, and the natural world around us. This simple act of appreciation can lead to miracles in our lives, as we learn to value every small change around us.
