You hear a phrase and the answer is right at your fingertips, thanks to the extensive and thorough research done by someone else. Enjoy some uncommon facts below that may just stick with you forever.

Marijuana

1. Not all weed gets you high.- When a cannabis plant is growing it is non-psychoactive. This is because there is no THC – only THCA, which doesn’t get you high. If you take weed fresh from a plant it won’t do anything. THCA has to be converted into THC. Some of this conversion will happen during the curing phase; however, much of the conversion happens when the THCA is heated e.g. smoking.

First Twitter User

2. The first 500 Twitter User IDs were generated between Tuesday, March 21, 2006 and Wednesday, July 12, 2006. These 500 IDs yield a total of 282 actual accounts. 218 are not inactive and may have been the Twitter team themselves, testing the site.

First civilian is Noah Glass @noah. His description reads "i started this".

Ethiopian Calendar

5. Ethiopia has 13 months in a year. New Year is celebrated on September 11th. To us (USA) it is year 2015 and to them it's 2008. The picture above is from 2005.

Ethiopian alphabet consists of 252 characters, compared to English with 26.

Mother Teresa

6. Agnes Gonxha aka Mother Teresa was Albanian. She was born August 26th in 1910.

Squished Sphere

7. Earth is not a perfect sphere. As Earth spins, gravity points toward the center of our planet and a centrifugal force pushes outward. But since this gravity-opposing force acts perpendicular to the axis of Earth, and Earth's axis is tilted. This imbalance adds up at the equator, where gravity pushes extra masses of water and earth into a bulge making the planet a 'squished sphere' shape.

Beautiful Defect

Cats Tongue

9. The tongue of a cat has tiny, backward-facing barbs (papillae) on it and they’re the things that create that rough sensation. The barbs serve several important functions. They make it easier for a cat to rasp the meat from the bones of his prey. The barbs also aid in grooming as they collect dirt, debris and loose hair from the cat’s coat.
