Wing Chun: The Chinese Martial Art

The people of China are world famous for their hospitality, courage, strength and their love for art, music and technology. I am going to discuss here about one such ancient art, martial art from China, Wing Chun. It has been voted by some of the martial art stylists as one of the best martial arts of the twentieth century. Though, you might have seen some of the best martial arts from China, Japan, Thailand, Brazil or some other countries, but I reckon that Wing Chu differs from most of them in terms of its execution and hold on the opponents. Even the weakest of the Wing Chu stylist can have total command and dominance, if he/she executes the vital steps in the most accurate and firm way.

Students of Wing Chun understands the fact that, they should use force to counteract a force. Use your brain & The Power of your opponent is the basic formula of Wing Chun Stylists. Wing Chun emerged as the best martial arts style in the early twentieth century. But before twentieth century anybody had hardly heard or seen about this unique style of protection & self defense. Earlier Wing Chun was not so popular among the martial artists but over the years it became one of the powerful forces of martial arts in one of the largest country, china. As of today, hundreds of martial artists study and exercise Wing Chun. It has become the most prominent and sought after martial arts in existence.

Punching, kicking, grappling holds along with striking and throwing are some of the basic techniques of Wing Chun. The strikes that you see here with this martial art , is one of the fastest in the world of martial arts. It hits the vital areas of the opponent very powerfully.

Throughout training, a lot of weightage is given to that very important concept. Learning to use force and channelizing the one's power is the key to success.  A Good Wing Chun stylist has very little power to offer when he/she is counteracting any opponent.

Wing Chun emphasizes time and time again, the shortest straw between the stylist and the opponent is the center line of the human body, which is where the maximum of the movements are taking place. Due to the linear fashion of Wing Chun, students will spend a lot of their training learning how to direct attacks as well as opposing force towards the center line.

The most vital areas on the human body are found along the center line of the human body, the very important area that Wing Chun teaches its stylists to protect from as well as attack with their proper techniques. This line is the most vital in battle, which is why martial artists should always aim their attacks for any area that exists along this line of the body. Most of the vital points found in the center line can be the end of the encounter if the stylist is able to land one powerful puff.

Wing Chun is a highly exceptional and extraordinary martial art teaching students how to use force against force in any type of encounter. There aren’t that many grappling holds or weapons used with Wing Chun, although the techniques and moves that are taught are tested and tried, proven, and above all - very effective for self defense. So be a Wing Chun Stylist today and learn the secrets of this extraordinary martial art.
