How To Become A Hypnotist

Updated on June 19, 2014

How To Become A Hypnotist

How and where can I train to become a hypnotist is a very common question asked by many who are curious about hypnosis.

To learn hypnosis you have several options, but before you begin, you should consider your aims and objectives. Why do you want to become a hypnotist?

For example, are you interested in becoming a hypnotherapist who helps people with their emotional and psychological issues? Or are you more interested in hypnosis as a tool for personal development and better mental health? Maybe you are interested in performing flashy tricks to amaze and dazzle an audience? These are just some basic questions you should ask yourself before you start looking for any training materials.

Train To Be a Hypnotist

Any person can train to be a hypnotist. For that you don't need any kind of degree and there's nothing magical or mystical about it. It's a skill and as with any skill, the more you practice, the better you become.

Hypnosis can be taught at various training centres, colleges that have hypnosis courses, through personal lessons, or by reading books or getting instructions over the internet. There are advantages and disadvantages to each of these methods.

The best, in my opinion, is to attend a hypnosis school or take personal lessons, but those options usually aren't very cheap. For a list of approved hypnotherapy schools click here.

An easier, faster and more affordable way is the internet and a wide range of interactive multimedia programs it has to offer. There are literally thousands of websites offering videos, audios and e-books all available for immediate download to help learn the necessary skills.

When looking for an online hypnosis course, be aware that there are many scams out there.

I am interested in using hypnotherapy to aid people such as in psychology and I was wondering if the best way to learn is online or by attending a hypnotherapy training course?

Hypnosis is certainly interesting. I would think you would need to learn through apprenticeship, not though course work.

I like to learn how to use hypnosis first, to use it as a personal tool to control myself, to be able to become more fluent in English lenguage and to loose weigh. Then I like to do for people since I want to be a psychotherapist
