How long after i take the depo vara shot will i stop bleeding, or get off my period?
I don't know for sure, but I had a bad reaction to it, and had a six month long period after I got the shot. The doctor started giving me a shot once a week, trying to get it to stop, but finally just letting it to wear out worked the best. So if you are having a long period, contact your doctor, s/he will tell you if it is normal and needs to be a concern. Most doctors offices have awesome nurses that are willing to give you simple answers. My reaction was very uncommon, but not unlikely. Some people can take it better than others.
i was on depo for two years and had spotting for most of the time however i only had one period a year to answer your qushtion it all depends on you and your body everyones body reacks diffrently to medication
both my wife and my sister had the Depo shot and both ended up having severe Thyroid problems. Now insted of worrying about getting pregnant they are both taking Synthroid for the rest of their lives.
If you have not had the shot yet I would advise you to talk to your DR about the side effects. They seem to out weigh the benefits.
My suggestion would be to stay on or start taking the pill. My wife had problems with the pill but they have her on a new one called Seasonique and she has a light period about 1 every 3 months.
