Americans in France- We want to Permanently move to France and go to school. What are our chances?

I am a few credits form a BA in Music Composition.  My grades we're right below 3.75. And I will graduate with Honors, if I do decide to graduate. (I may not, for many personal reasons.) Though,I would like to basically start at the Bachelor level all over and get something more employ-able- like Clinical Psych. or Urban Planning.

MY BF, has a few college classes under his belt and a 4.0 from High School.

So how hard is it to get into a French University?
Do we have to show savings enough to live while in school, or can we work too?
What is the easiest schools to get into?
    All info welcome

I say GO FOR IT!!! Attending school in France is such a rewarding experience!  I was a student over 30 years ago, but the memories of my time abroad are still vivid in my mind.  I visited France about 2 years ago and the ambiance was so intoxicating.  Do it!
