Which landscape do you think is most in need of conservation?

e.g. rainforests, desserts, the polar circles, temperate forests, reefs, inland waterways

Heck it's a scary picture... they're all in dire need of conservation.

If I had to pick one I would say wetlands.  Pound for pound they generally do more for ecosystems than other landscapes.  Also, true wetlands (not those ridiculous fake ones they build to mitigate destroying real ones) can take a very long time to develop (think centuries rather than years) and so replacement is much more difficult than other landscapes.

I agree with writeido, they are all in need of intense conservation, because they are all vital to the survival of the biosphere.
