Would you like to keep some insect as a pet?
In case you would, which one would it be?
Yes, I would and have kept many insects and arachnids as pets. I'm typing this directly after having instructed my ex on how to take care of our son's praying mantis that he got at preschool . For my own pet -- insects only -- I find grasshoppers strangely fascinating, very easy to feed, and my captive grasshoppers have shed their skins many times for my kids to see. Once I grow them to 3"-5", though, I just have to make sure they never get loose because the farmers and gardeners around here really resent that.
I currently own three tarantulas and a handful of various phasmids (leaf or stick bugs). They are wonderfully simple pets, and never fail to fill me with wonder. Surprisingly delicate and docile, most bugs are largely misunderstood.
