Why do large seed companies oppose poly culture of perennial crops
Owning the patent means that the farmers can't save the seeds each season and GM Terminator seeds are those that have been genetically modified not to reproduce.
The corporateers want farmers to pay for patented seed that are GM foods. They sue to get paid even if your farm has been contaminated by cross-pollination!
They give seeds to farmers in Africa for free and then later charge them for more - sort of like a drug dealer giving a freebie and once hooked charged you high prices.
Now a new law says ALL seeds!

We need to have a law called the Farmer Protection Act -
"...farmers would not have to create buffer zones around their fields to protect from cross-pollination by a patented crop. It also protects farmers from damages and attorney fees if they "unknowingly come into possession" of a genetically engineered plant. Finally, the bill establishes ground rules for when the supplier of genetically modified seeds can inspect fields. "
