How many species of animals, fish, plants (or anything else) do you think are still undiscovered?
This world is so vast that I often wonder how many things are still left to be discovered. I really wonder if all the things that are now declared extinct are truly extinct. What are your thoughts?
If they are undiscovered, how can I number them? Though I agree with you, they are quite a few animals that haven't been realized. Most live in the ocean and rivers.
I would like to think that the majority of undiscovered species of animals live in deep waters. Also some sea creatures thought too be extinct might have a greater chance of existing without being detected in deeper or unexplored waters.
Estimates range from 10-100 million in total
1.75 million recorded
230,000 species are plants and there are estimated to be at least 200,000 more species
100,000 plants are on the red list
