Why does US Law allow corporate money shuffling to escape the penalties of civil suits?

I just read another story about a woman who sued a crooked corporation and won a large settlement, but will end up getting nothing. I would like to hear opinions on why our legal system allows for such nonsense, and what we can do to stop it from continuing.

There is nothing Wrong with any Law ... as long as, the Law follows Truth, in  the dispensation of Justice ...

But ... in any "Representation, by Default" ... what you call, Democracy ...
You are not the one, who is "Heard" ... where although Bills are moved ... viz. Health care Legislation ... but these Bills, always hit "Political" snags ... Snags ... are what suits the more Powerful Lobby ... than addressing the basic Needs ... of Common Folks.

Thus, its the so called ... "your Representatives" ... who are heard and have the Power, of Numbers ... to justify ... and the Making of Laws, that define and govern the common folks' acceptable Conduct, and Clamor ... in a so called ... "Free" Democratic ... Society !

The How of the Why being ...
Because ...  your "Representatives" ... find it far more lucrative ...
to Get ... than Give ...
Thats why, claimants ... are Awarded Settlements ... that Favor
Corporations ... not, Individuals ... Thats why Commoners, end up getting nothing.

Thats why ... not only common Americans ... but the Agoni Tribe, in Africa ... The Tragedy of Bhopal sufferers in India ... The Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Disaster ... sufferers ... have to truge along ... hoping, that some day ... Justice Will be Done ...
