    Only a small percentage. Benjamin Franklin and George Washington were.

    Yes, but let me expand on this statement. The first masonic lodge was built in the 1500's. A very long time ago. It is so hard to find a society that has no masonic influence.

    Some of the so called founding fathers could have been freemasons. However after reading so much on the topic I find that there were no real founding fathers of the U.S.A. Once they discovered America, all of those from Europe who could make the journey went to America and settled there creating havoc with the ecology and the native population of the Americas. It was just a mad rush for survival.
