HELP! I want to do a research project/paper- what should be the topic?

I'm bored, I have too many ideas, feedback needed.

    My two big strengths are:
    1) Research (online searches, article reviews, database creation, organization etc)
    2) Writing (research, essays, critical thinking, as well as creative writing)

    Example Topics:
-Health care / education (cultural perspectives, diversity in care and learning, ethics)
-Culture in general (analyze a particular concept such as mourning or something)
-Anything provided I find it interesting.

*My strength is not math (I am out of practice), but I am so-so at statistical analysis, and could learn more.

Thank you for the answer, I did consider it, and then I became inspired to pursue something else, a little "closer to my heart" so to speak. But it is certainly an interesting topic... smile

Ok, so you know what your strengths are, and those are some great and important ones. I am kind of at a similar point as you as far as itching for a really good project to sink my teeth into and am also trying to decide on a subject. The question I always come back to is "what am I passionate about?" In my view, nothing sparks motivation and creativity and makes for a really great end result quite like something for which you care very deeply and rings a personal bell for you or "strikes a chord", to turn a phrase! Challenges here can be daunting though as well since I find most people who have the capacity to be passionate about one thing, have it to a great degree about a great many things, so how do you choose? There's always trusting your first instinct...or so to say, whatever idea comes to you first, probably did so for a reason! The other challenge is staying focused on the central issue! We all know how this world has become so complex that virtually everything is potentially intertwined with many other issues that can stand alone as central topics in their own right. This is personally my biggest challenge as I seem to have one of those "solve the ills of the world all in one fell swoop" complexes, which makes it easy to lose your focus, or have it shifted, off of the original issue. Today especially, it seems ever more difficult to keep people's attention, so jumping around too much makes it hard to keep a following. Good Luck to us both!!

Thank you! I ended up sitting in two college courses for the fun of it when I got inspired.. I am in the process of researching a paper right now, and its on exactly what I am passionate about, and have been for some years.
