Is America a break-away civilization from the old countries of Europe and Asia?
America was colonized by people from Europe. The USA was a British colony and gained their independence from Britain. Minorities were not considered as humans as decreed by Pope Alexander IV (Borgia) therefore Asians considered as having no part in making of America.
Yes, in an interesting way. Years ago, I remember reading about how the United States of America was different than anything prior because it was founded on ideals and the people. Practically all other countries/ empires/ civilizations were combined/ consolidated and lead by kings/ queens in more/less continuous efforts for land/ power.
America is an amazing, frustrating, wonderful ongoing experiment in the people figuring out how to run and set rules for the country.
And it is so interesting to see how "we" take in so many traditions, habits from many other countries and combine them as we stretch and grow as a country.
