What are the odds of me being a lefty?
Left handedness is a recessive gene. Both my parents are rightys and I'm a lefty. I have one lefty grandfather on my moms side.
What are the odds of this happening? Did I win the genetic lottery and became a lefty against the odds? I don't know too much about genetics but I would think that a recessive gene that skips a generation and only comes from one grandparent would be quite rare.
It depends the culture of people you are living with. In my town being lefty is almost forbidden. Parents will be so embarrassed because their child is lefty. Moreover, based on certain religions rule it's forbidden.
If you live with people who never care about it, it's not odd, it's okay.
