Humans are conscious and aware of themselves, at least to a greater degree than plants are. We're some small part of the universe experiencing itself. And we're dying even as we're being born. We have to figure out for ourselves what we want, what we should be doing to pass the time, and what is and is not of value for living our best life now. There is no tomorrow, there is only ever now, really.
