We are living in a simulation. This is why the moon and earth have this geometry. It is why synchronicities occur.
If you assume the soul is eternal, then it has existed eternally and if you accept the Gaia theory as plausible, then that would extend beyond the confines of this planet.
So, if the soul is eternal, if each life is finite, it isn't a hop skip and a jump to the assumption that the spiritual is, possibly...has been and will be, definitely; aware and a party to the creating of and continuing existence of this symbiotic relationship.
Creation would be little more than a vehicle to use for a simulation. Why? To experience existence in such a way as to understand the ramifications of good vs evil. A virtual classroom used in order to allow the soul to learn and mature.
I am not sure if souls are eternal. I kind of hope not. who would really want to live forever?
Until you understand what forever is it's a little difficult to determine whether it would be enviable or not. This current form, your current way of thinking, your existence within a swarm of senses and emotions....that would not be eternity. Those exist in this physical form.
Walk around the equator, over and over. When you have worn a path down to magma all the way around, you will have taken your first step towards "forever".
That's impossible. I can't walk on water.
Why does there have to be a "who" or a "why"? This seems an unwarranted assumption to me.
it is based on experience. someone is showing me. I call it the Universe.
"Someone" would be indicative of an intelligence, likely at least equal to humanities. Do you see the Universe (collection of stars, planets, photons, etc.) as being intelligent - having thoughts, goals, wants, etc.?
If so, what supports than viewpoint?
No, it is a being I call the Universe. I don't think the actual universe(physical things) exists. It is a simulation.
As a physical thing, then, you don't exist either.
Why do you call a being "the Universe"? I seems inevitable that confusion will arise as no one else recognizes either that being or your personal name for it.

What do you guys think about the simulated universe theory, almost like the matrix in a way. Google the simulated universe theory and tell me what you think. I find it plausible that we are living in a simulation and our 'simulators' are also living within a simulation, etc. almost like...

Someone once said that if one does not believe in the existence of God, then one ends up believing anything and everything. This emanates from the perception that atheism's interpretation of existence is primarily nihilistic, devoid of purpose and meaning. For what is purpose and meaning but an...

I feel I need to ask these questions just to see what you all think and maybe get a good discusion going. What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? Why are things the way they are? Where did god come from? He can't always have been there. Are there more of him? If so where are they? Does the...

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) looked for a reasonable explanation for why anything exists at all. He said that God was that reasonable explanation. W.L Craig has formulated the Leibnizian argument this way:P(1) Anything that exists has an explanation for its existence, either in the...
