What is Heaven like?

I was contemplating what Heaven would be like and came up with the following scenario. I have no idea if this is true or any way shape or form close to the real thing. I just thought, if I was God, and I wanted to create a perfect resting place to reward human beings, this is what I would come up with...

My personal view of what Heaven is like...

My views are shaped by the following. I followed some of the descriptions mentioned in the Bible. I've read some books by people who have experienced near death experiences. I've added some of my own interpretations, preferences and embellishments. These are based on my knowledge of science, history and religion.

  • Heaven is a Virtual Reality experience. Not that it is not real but it is one of an infinite dimension custom made for each person.
  • God is present and in direct communications.
  • Angels are present and serves as facilitators.
  • It is a happy place.
  • All the people you've ever met on Earth (alive or dead) will be there in their best form.
  • In addition, famous people from past and present that you've dreamed of meeting will also be present.
  • You will never feel hunger (physical or emotional) ever again.
  • You will have all the time in the world to pursue whatever interest you.
  • You will have a "glorified" body that has shape and form but will not require food or water to sustain. However, that does not preclude you from enjoying eating and drinking...
  • You will be able to comprehend the mysteries of our universe.
  • You will experience ever lasting life without ever growing old.

Science behind my theory

One might ask how is this possible. Aren't there limitations of physics that makes this impossible? How can one person be at multiple places? How can everlasting life be achieved? ...

  • Why is it possible for man to live forever...

In Einstein's theory of relativity, space and time is related. When one travels at or near the speed of light, time slows down. Suppose Heaven is like a spaceship that is traveling in space at the speed of light. For everyone on board, they will experience "normal" time but from an outside observer, a thousand years may pass.

  • The essence of man or his soul is not tied to any physical being. As such, it is possible to have multiple version of the same soul be present in various dimensions.

Think of this as modeled by an object programming language. You can define an object with certain properties and create an instance of this object to be used in one part of the program and at the same time create another instance of the same object.

  • Why are children and family units not necessary in Heaven?

The answer is simple. There is no need for the family unit because no children will be born and they will not need a nurturing environment to grow...
