Financial Independence

Updated on July 17, 2009

The process of creating and building wealth can be challenging and genuinely worthwhile in itself, regardless of which way you use to accomplish your objective. Great wealth, measured in dollars alone, is not enough. You aren’t truly successful unless you learn how to really enjoy your wealth. What sense does it make to build a beautiful home for yourself if you are unable to enjoy living in it? You can enjoy building it, but that is temporary. The most important benefit you could derive would be the permanent pleasure of living in that house. Sometimes, for the sake of making a living, one forgets how to live.

It is no doubt that everyone wants financial independence. You are financially independent when you achieve your state of wealth and well-being; the ability to pay your debts and to buy what you need without working. You can afford to buy luxuries and still have reserve for emergencies. Wealth and financial independence are not the same. Wealth denotes happiness, general well-being; good health, good living condition, lack of emotional stress, and positive relationships with family and friends. True wealth can protect you from loneliness but financial independence can’t. Although, someone may say, I can attain wealth if I am financially independent, since I can conveniently pay for proper nourishment and travel to eliminate loneliness. That sounds great. However, in practice we find that some of the loneliest people have lots of money, and some of the sickliest people also have lots of money. If you can attain wealth through financial independence, why are people who can afford to pay for what they please still lonely? My answer is, if they are lonely, they are not in a state of well-being, and the financial independence they are supposed to have isn’t enough to buy them the happiness or satisfaction that comes with true wealth.

The main reason for this article is to show you how simple it is to achieve wealth and well-being when you have the knowledge. The key to wealth and well-being is the same as the key to making a living without a job to achieving success, and attaining wealth and well-being. Everything you need to succeed is within you. Do what you have passion for and you will be on your way to making a living without a job. The happiness and joy you derive from what you enjoy doing will make you a fortune. Don't forget to share your wealth because good fortune only has value when you have someone to share it with.

People who hoard their money-making secrets are short-circuiting their ability to expand their wealth. Instead, they ought to spread the word, because in so doing, they spread the wealth.

Your attitude is the control center of your life. Money alone does not determine how happy you are; your attitude coupled with your financial status determine how you go about achieving your happiness. Before I show you how to enjoy your money and achieve true wealth.

I want you to take a look at 4 ways to make yourself miserable

1. Consistently cultivate a pessimistic outlook

2. Forget about the good things and concentrate on the bad.

3. Believe that you are indispensable to your job, your company, your community,
your family and your friends.

4. Put too much value and importance on money.

In other to enjoy being rich, you must avoid any of these four and embrace the opposite. What happens in the outside world does not determine our destiny. It is not what is done to us, but what we do that matters. Your attitude determines your altitude. It is more important than the past, education, money, circumstances, failures, successes, or what other people say or do. It is impossible to change any of those things but we can choose our attitude. We create and shape our own world; the world doesn’t shape us.

The truth hold for how you make your money and it holds for how you ultimately enjoy it. You are the master of your fate and the captain of your soul.
