Primary School Teacher
Teaching is hard
Little that I know that teaching is not an easy job at all. I thought teaching is among the easiest job ever. Well, how hard can it be to teach the things that I know?
Then it hit me, that teaching is not only about teach the subject you should, but more. Even a mother could lose temper to handle a kid, then how about teacher that need to handle a class full with kids? The beginning of my teaching profession, it has been very hard and difficult. I found it so hard for me to teach with a smile and always lose my control. At this point, sometimes, I do feel wanted to give up.
This lense is about ma, be a primary school teacher, teaching pupils below 13 years old. It was hard and yet fun at the same time. But through the process, I've learned to be better, thanks to this profession.
Differences between adult and children
As i continuing my depressing mode as a teacher, I found something miracolously interesting. As I'm a teacher of a primary school teacher which most kids are around 7 to 12 years old, I found out that they can easily forgotten the unhappy things happen the day before. I felt weird to see that pupils are still able to smile at me despite have been scold from me the day before because of unfinished homework. Well, not all pupils are like that, but these pupils make me feel loving them more. There is no revenge in their dictionary.
Unlike us, the adults, it so hard to go past history. Letting go will require time and persistence.
But these pupils, still able to respect and laugh with me when I'm making a joke. Moment like this make me really proud of being a teacher. Yes, it was hard , and yet very fulfilling. It was indeed a great feeling when they understand what I taught them.
Teaching is hard, but it all worth it
How can it not worth it, when you see the progress from the pupils you taught. They remember you and says hi to you when they meet you. It is a great feelings.
When I jokingly said that I will teach them on next year, they will ask why and said, teacher, please teach us. It makes my heart swell with happiness. These pupils are full with enthusiasm , and it is the teachers that need to help them bring out the great things inside of them. It wasn't easy, but no pain no gain.
Teaching need passion and for teachers, they have to have a lot of courageous, and patience. They have to work hard and not to give up when they see the setback. It is good when the pupils you taught remember you and still respected you even after they are adult. Pupils remember the teachers that make the great impact to them, that's my senior told me.
I found out, as being a teacher, I need to have goals, goals as teacher. Do I become a teacher for the sake of salary only or more? Once I have the set goals in my mind, I can move forward without worrying the troubles that I will be facing.
My Favourite Quote for Teacher
I've come to the frightening conclusion that I'm the decisive element in the classroom. Its my personal approach that creates the climate. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations it's my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or deescalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.
