Directed by Richard LaGravanese, P.S. I Love You is a 2007 film of American drama based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel with the same title. The plot involves Gerry and Holly, a Lower East Side New York married couple that love each other but occasionally fight. By the time winter arrived, Gerry dies suddenly of a tumor in the brain and it was then that Holly felt their arguments were so insignificant and how much he meant to her. Distraught very deeply, Holly isolates herself from friends and family because of her grief until her thirtieth birthday comes along. A delivered cake contains a message written by Gerry and is the first of many messages which are meaningful, all of which end with the phrase PS I Love You. Holly then goes on a path or discovering herself through the words of Gerry in the messages he sends her each year. Her mother feels that these messages keep her from moving forward but in fact, they push her away from the past. In Ireland, Holly meets a singer William who sings a song that Gerry used to sing to her in the past. At the end of the film, Holly starts a new chapter in her life.

Officer and Gentleman
A drama film made in 1982 in America, An Officer and a Gentleman is a tale of a candidate for the US Navy Aviation that comes into conflicts with his drill instructor. Zack Mayo has a bad problem with his attitude when he signs up for Navy Aviation school and get evaluated and trained. He later meets Paula who does not have a lot and needs to make important decisions. Starring Louis Gossett Jr, Debra Winger and Richard Gere, the movie begins in the Philippines and gets signed up to become a navy pilot hoping to improve his life. Later, Zack meets Paula and spends weekends together as he goes through training. He later finishes his training in flight school and seeks out the factory where Paula works. He walks out carrying her to co worker’s applause. The film is basically about the decisions he needs to make between his own pursuits and how to deal with what he faces each step of the way. The challenges that greet him while he trains plus the fact that he has fallen for Paula make this a great movie not to be missed. This is one movie you will want to see more than once as it is a wonderful tale of decision making, fixing up your lives and starting anew, with great results.

Johnny Cash grows up in the era of the Great Depression and becomes interested in music. Eventually he moves out of his town in Arkansas to join the German Air Force. When there, he writes his own music and buys his first guitar. He later makes a proposal to Vivian. When they marry, they have a daughter and settle down in Tennessee. He supports his wife and daughter by selling tings. Later, he finds someone who can help him go after his dram and gets a record with a group. Later, he promotes his songs and meets June Carter, who is already famous. They go on tour for long hours and a relationship grows. Later, he gets involved with drugs and his married life starts to fall apart. Later, he stops the drugs and proposes to June in a show in front of the audience. In essence, it is the love of a woman that saves him from self destruction and addiction. He had lost both his father’s affection and his brother in the course of his early life and his unhappiness gives him the impetus to improve his life. This is another movie worth watching as this film shows how things can change when everything seems worthless.

The Way We Were
This film is a classic and begins with Hubbell and Katie meeting after two decades. The film also shows them the way they were while at the university together, with the different lives they led while still in college. While Hubbell was an athletic jock that could do anything, Katie worked as a spokeswoman that wanted change and peace. She is into communism and is against the Spanish civil war. On the other hand, Hubbell happens to be a politic skeptic and really is just interested in sports and not much else. Fate brings them back to each other after twenty years when she makes them dinner after he sleeps over. They soon develop a relationship and become serious. They live and work together and their lives go on smoothly until one day a rift comes to tear them apart. Later with the passage of time, they develop relationships with other people. They agree on their separate ways later on but they say goodbye to each other first. This movie is great for date night as it features how people go on with their lives and make the right decisions regardless of how they really feel.

Cal and Emily had been married for two decades when suddenly Cal moves out after finding out that Emily had an affair. He then kept going to a bar and when the bar regular Jacob heard his woes; he taught Cal how to be a player and gave him a makeover. Later, Cal finds out how to frequently pick people up. Later, he faces the fact that he still loves Emily and wishes that things were as they were in the past. When his son graduates eighth grade, he gives a speech about not believing about soul mates and love any longer. Cal takes over and reveals to the audience about what he went through with Emily. He also states that he won’t really give up and to the audience’s applause; Robbie affirms his love for Jessica, his baby sitter once again. After graduation, Jessica gives Robbie pictures of herself while Emily and Cal reminisce and laugh as they talk about the past year’s events. Hannah who had gone out with Jacob, was also revealed to be the daughter that Cal and Emily had. All in all this tale is of love and life, about how each person is just trying to work things out and how sometimes, things turn out okay in the end.
Crazy Stupid Love
Sweet and innocent daddy’s girl Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman goes to an upstate resort in the Catskill Mountains of New York with her family. Having grown up sheltered and overprotected, Baby is expected to join the Peace Corps after college and marry a doctor after saving the world, just as her father is a doctor. Suddenly, the dance instructor of the resort, Johnny Castle becomes someone she gets infatuated with and she later replaces the dance partner of Johnny. The fall in love as he teachers her the dance moves. As Baby’s father ends up having to save one of the partners of Johnny who gets an abortion and gets sick soon after, Baby is then restricted from associating with these types of people by her father. Later, she and Johnny keep on dancing and in the end she falls completely in love with him regardless of her father’s warnings. At the end of the movie, Johnny and Baby end up wowing the crowd with a dance move that took a lot of practices and win the dance contest. This movie is a fun movie as it features a lot of dancing and music. Music lovers will love the different songs and dance moves featured in each scene.
Andrew Paxton, the assistant editor of executive editor Margaret Tate learns that she may have to go through deportation to Canada due to the violation of her work visa terms. Andrew Paxton is her assistant and asks him to marry her, reminding him that he loses his work if she gets deported. The immigration agent of the USA then tells them that the marriage may be a fraud and will be asked separate questions later on. The couple then goes to the Alaskan town of Sitka to meet his family and reveal their engagement. Margaret sees how Paxton is on almost every name in the shops of the town and find out that Andrew is very rich. Later, the family learns of their engagement and become very happy with the turn of events. Preparations are then made for the impending marriage and more and more, Margaret and Andrew learn about each other. Later, Andrew and Margaret really do end p falling in love with each other and at the end of the film, Gilbertson asks questions about their relationship not just to the couple but also to the family of Andrew including Ramone, Annie, Grace and Joe. This is a fun movie to watch and you will most likely want to watch this over and over again.
Directed and produced by Cameron Crowe, Jerry Maguire is a comedy drama romantic film set in America in 1996. Inspired by Leigh Steinberg, sports agent, this movie features thirty-five year old Jerry Maguire, an agent for sports that gets fired. The one person that goes with him is Dorothy Boyd, a twenty-six year old single mom. The only prospect he has is a quarterback superstar Frank Cushman that signs with SMI at the last minute. The movie tracks the ebb and flow of the career of Jerry Maguire and later he ends up falling in love with Dorothy and realizes at the same time what is important in life. The movie shows how people realize sooner or later what is really important and what is worth fighting for. Later, Jerry becomes very successful in his life and at the end of the movie, discusses about the future possibilities of Ray with Dorothy, after he throws a football at Jerry.
Dear John is a movie about a little kid named John struggling to find balance between his father and himself. He meets Savannah while on Army Leave and is bound to work for Habitat for Humanity. After John retrieves a purse from the deep water of the ocean, they become fast friends and later at a wild college bon fire, John meets Tim Wheddon, the friend of Amanda. He later learns how Tim and Savannah are really mature. Later, they see each other again when John ends up teaching Savannah how to surf. At the end of the leave of John, Savannah sees him at the port. She mentions that it may look like Asperger’s is something that John’s father may be suffering from. This explains his giant coin collection, his love of routine and the same conversation each and every day. After this, Tim gets his nose hit by John while John promises to come back for Savannah. Later, she ends up writing him a letter of goodbye.

They end up getting along and he gives her money to make her stay the entire week long. On Hollywood Boulevard, Vivian Ward works as a prostitute when she runs into Edward, who seems like her knight in shining armor. The wealthy, ruthless businessman does not realize that she is more than what she seems and she turns out to be able to surprise him in more ways than one. Edward slowly sees the light at the tunnel’s end and makes becomes a better person as a result. Both Vivian and Edward end up being able to start over again in each of their lives and actually end up together.
