100 Funniest Movies (Pt 25 ~ Omissions)

Updated on November 26, 2011

After 100 Funny Movies, now you want the stuff I missed too?

Just a Reminder of How Far We Have Come!

This HUB is where your voices are heard.

I have blended a bunch more of my favorites with a few of your suggestions and any n' all comments could result in an adjustment. If you want to nominate a movie for inclusion, do so in the comment section below. If I have not seen it yet, (like Grandma's Boy or Fred Claus or Life of Brian) I will soon and I will also watch any suggestions you have as long as they don't involve Mike Myers. He's just not my kind of entertainer at all. After Wayne's World and 2 Austin Powers movies, I'm done. Let it go.

Anybody else though, I'm open to.

One Final Confessions to the lovers of the countdown.

As I went on down the list of 5 movies I was gonna feature in each one of these 5 at a time Hubs, I would almost always flip the best one with the worst one because I want to start the Hub strong. If you examine the list you'll see where I made these swaps. Every number ending in a 5 or a zero is kick ass compared to the ones above it. The instance that screams out at me is Groundhog Day and The Birdcage. I watch the Birdcage because I enjoy the sound of my wife's laughter but i have seen Groundhog Day 20 times at least. Love that film. Others should be obvious if you go back up the original 100.

My 5 Most Rediculous Omissions on my part are:

  1. Kingpin

  2. My Cousin Vinny

  3. Slap Shot

  4. Anchorman

  5. Army of Darkness

This is the best "funniest movies" list I've ever seen... hands down!

The top 20 have some of my favs including "Dumb and Dumber" (#1 for me) ... of which for some odd reason isn't included in most "Funniest Movies" list. Maybe you can explain this phenomenon?

Weekend at Bernies is a classic. I tried to do a list of my own, but its tough because there are so many classics!!! Dumb and Dumber for me is the funniest!!!

SUPER WRONG!!! Looks like you listed funny movies with no respect to order. Super Bad... Supper troopers and Old school would be in my top ten, most people would see these to top 30. And you have Dumb and Dumber above Caddy Shack??? 2 vs 30 something??? These lists are always bad, but yours is by far the worst! I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul. That's Billy Madison and it is also not on your list.

I think this is a great list my friend. What I read here is that most people do not realise that people have different taste in movies. Some my find Borat funny while others may fight it stupid. Some people may find Jackass funny and some may think it is stupid. So when one things what is the funny is in his/her interest to find those movies funny and when we come to judge others just because the dude took his time to put a list together does not mean that we should be putting him down or telling him what list should be numbered what ways? You lazy asses are sitting on the chair getting fater and fatter give the poor guy some credit you freaking baboons

Some good films in here but can I ask how many of your listed films were made outside of America? The list is so short sighted it makes me realize how closed off America must be. Having said that, I think National Lampoon's are excellent and original choices as number 1 on a list and I think the Big Lebowski could be higher.

The Hangover has to be added to the list. At least in the top 20. It is arguably the funniest non-Apatow movie of the decade.

You still don't have High Anxiety, Midnight Run, Ruthless People, Get Crazy, Little Big Man, Mr. Saturday Night, Seems Like Old Times, or Freddy Got Fingered, among others, in the top 200...I was happy to see that you included Let It Ride and CB-4 in your second tier, though.

What about Super Troopers? or Beerfest? When compared to many of the movies on that list that I don't even consider close to comedy, they should be up there.
