15 Songs about Roses

I know this is slightly miss quoted. It should be A rose by any other name would not smell as sweet. But this site is about music thus the re-quoting.

What brought on this site you are wondering? Well the answer is our anniversary is coming up and one of the things I will be doing is giving her is 20 roses. This started me thinking. Mostly about music. Yes from flowers to music. And no I am not sure how the brain made that jump either.

Anyway I started to get several tunes in my head and decided to share them with you. So please look through this page and enjoy the tunes.

Its interesting how some songs you don't need words for. This is one of those. I have heard it and learned the words almost immediately. Watching the folks in the audience for this and you will see their faces change as they listen. And see the music moves them. Its almost as if you don't need to know the words to have the music move you

I remember listen to this one growing up with my grandfather. And yes that was on the vinyl records.

We are talking about riding horses here. That is something I don't do ever since as a kid and scraped off the back of one. The horse decided to go into the barn though a low hanging door. Needles to say the shorts were never clean again. I did try one other time in college to ride a horse. I got up, the horse moved and I got back down again.

The wife says that I love to sing a good dirge. Well this was one of the first ones that I would be humming. I haven't gotten the words down yet but I am still working on them.

Its interesting how just one rose means so much. And the other little things you can do mean just if not more. Such as publishing a site or two for or about her. Just remember that you can bring her a car. But that will go away. But its the small things you do that may seam unimportant to you, but to here they mean that you are thinking about her. Like I started out with a simple rose to you may just be a flower that will wither and die. To her she could then press that flower and add it to an album with pictures of the two of you. The memories that they will bring back as she looks through them in years to come.

I found two different version of this song I liked and wanted to share. One is the vocal and the other is just music. Both were fun to watch and listen to.

The song I know the singer not until now. But it is still a good one for the wife to hear. Some of the lines alone are a great on a phone call when you just wanted to hear her breathing. Just to know that she is still there. When its just the little things that mean so much to you.

My love is fairer then any is one of the lines to this song. And for those of you out there know that this is true. Willing to be there when ever you're needed. Such as late at night as you are just climbing into bead and the wife needs you to warm up the bucky for her. You then go back down stairs take two minutes to warm it in the microwave and bring it back up. Climb into bed and she needs a drink of water and something else. So you get up and run up and down the stairs. Why does she keep doing this? Who cares! It is for my wife and her needs are more important than running up and down the stairs.

First this is not a group that I listen to often. But when a song comes along it is not the artist but the music that means more. That's why this one is part of the list. So please listen and enjoy.

This song is about getting a rose for every time they were sad. In our case That would be less than five. In the movie when Harry Meet Sally they would have more than us. That's base on the number of times the met and did not stay together. Just so you know my dear this song is not about us.

I know that the title does not include Rose but the movie it was part of does. Add into that the fact it is about love and the love he is expressing. Sometimes just saying "I Love You" to your wife means a lot. Especially if it was not brought on by her prompting you to say it.

Listening to this song it brings on the move Wall-E. And how he is with another robot. Trying to express his feelings and sharing with her. Even thought she seams to be ignoring him. But sometimes you need to express your feelings even if it feels like the other one is missing it

Most of the music on this site has been only one person singing. This is a duet. And for a love song a duet is one of the best ways to preform those types of songs. Add into that the times when my wife and I were dating and she lived in another state over the summer break. Not that easy let me tell you.

When we moved into our first apartment the first thing my wife did was plant a rose bush. When we moved she planted a rose bush. It seams no matter where we live she plants a rose bush. The one she loves is the Ingrid Bergman Rose.
