24 Series Movie Planned?
American action/drama series has ended after 8 seasons. The show starred Kiefer Sutherland as special agent Jack Bauer, usually working for the Counter Terrorist Unit or CTU, based Los Angeles.
The show was unique in its real-time serialized format. Each show represents an hour in the life of the CTU, and each season was made up of 24 hours. The ticking clock aspect was emphasized through an on screen digital clock which kept the audience updated after add breaks and throughout the show. Typical story lines featured Jack Bauer trying to stop to stop crises such as terrorist acts, Presidential assassinations or chemical threats.
24 won the 2003 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama and Kiefer Sutherland won the Golden Globe for Best Actor at the 2001 awards. At the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards 24 won Outstanding Drama Series and Kiefer Sutherland won Outstanding Lead Actor.
As well as the 192 episodes of the show, a television movie, 24: Redemption aired on November 23, 2008, between the 6th and 7th seasons. Earlier this year Kiefer Sutherland had said the script for a planned feature film has been finished. No dates for the film have yet been announced.
