5 Movies to Watch When You Wanna Cry
Movies are nothing less than escape portals in our stressful lives, Nothing feels more relaxing than being snuggled in your warm sheets on weekend surrounded by your favourite junk food, away from your Boss and job responsibilities watching some good moving pictures.
Making Movies is an art, Director has the power to make you laugh, Sad or Inspired through his/her sheer talent. Here are the Top five movies that will have you leaping for the tissues in no time.
Lion
The story follows a Indian boy named Saroo who gets lost as a child on the streets of Calcutta, he is then adopted by an Australian Couple. 25 years later, he returns home in an attempt to reunite with his lost family.
My favourite part of the movie is when He finally meet his Mother, He has forgotten his Hindi, She doesn't know English, but they talk through tears and emotions, A mother's love is stronger than the language barrier.
A dog's Purpose (2017)
A Dog's Purpose is a story about a dog who seeks the meaning of his life. The film takes us through five reincarnations of the dog. The movie is also a reflection on what role dogs have in our society. In each of his five reincarnations, the dog is treated differently.
The fault in our stars
I brought a box of tissues and I used about half of them. I have never cried so much in my entire life. Being an avid fan of the book, I was kind of scared that like some of my other favourite books, the movie would be ruined. But no, The movie had all of the book's materials in it (except for one thing). I never thought Shailene and Ansel would play Hazel and Gus, but when I watched it, their performance blew me away. I think Shailene's ability to cry got me crying, because that's how real it felt. It is an amazing movie.
Soul Surfer
AnnaSophia Robb does a spectacular job of playing Bethany Hamilton, a 13 year-old girl determined to continue doing what she loves after losing an arm to a shark. Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid do an excellent job of portraying her supporting parents. The raw display of emotion from herself and the rest of the cast is mesmerizing. The character chemistry and development could not work better here. The film includes great cinematography and well-done surf scenes which add to the overall effect.
My Sister's Keeper
This movie is amazing, heart worming, sad, fantastic. I read the book, yes there is some changes done, but is all the movies turned into books just like the book? Are they really going to do every single thing? No. Yes the ending isn't the same as the book, but the ending was still sad. If you see this movie and don't cry, than you don't have a heart.
Marley & Me
Marley & Me does a great job of telling the story of the Grogan family. Yes, the main character is Marley, but Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are great in their roles. Marley's antics are hilarious and we get to see the family evolve throughout the movie. I think the writers and directors did a great job in telling this story.
All in all, an enjoyable movie with plenty of laughs and plenty of tears.
Me before you
At times I feel that humanity has forgotten, or never really knew, what it is to really love someone. Jojo Moyes obviously isn't one of those people. Love isn't the lust we feel at the beginning of a relationship. It's not the thoughtful vision we compile of what the future could be like or how compatible we are. It's not about how financially successful a prospective partner is. It's certainly not all about sex, although it would be hard to come to this conclusion when the media generally plays strongly to that idea. It's the undeniable, overwhelming pull from our hearts that grows only when we really let ourselves care about someone unselfishly.
Thank you Jojo for playing this out so beautifully. Thank you Emelia and Sam for either knowing this experience or fabulously, convincingly portraying it on screen. This movie is a treat to watch and a glimpse of what it feels like to be a person who lives their life with a moral conscience, an open mind, a respect for beliefs that are different than yours and a desire to see the best in the world.
