5 Movies whose lead actress I found most attractive

Updated on August 8, 2011

Introduction

I was reluctant to use the words hottest actress or sexiest because not all of the women in this list of movies would necessarily fall under those exact categories for the roles each played in the movie. Attractive seemed to be the best word to use in the case of this hub. In each of the five movies below I found the lead actress would belong in a top 5 list such as this one, so here they are, not in any order.

Mikaela Banes

Megan Fox plays Mikaela Banes in the first two Transformers movies. The scene with her checking Sam's car near the beginning of the movie has every guy riveted. Sam's reaction and Bumblebee's music choices before and after all this make it a very entertaining part of the movie. Mikaela's tough exterior and her softness for Sam gives her a mention in this hub.

Sil

Natasha Henstridge plays Sil in the sci-fi thriller Species. In this movie, Sil is the byproduct of an alien DNA combined with a human embryo. She grows at an astronomical rate, escapes the compound where she was 'born' and eventually becomes an adult who is on the quest for a mate to procreate. This hunt for a mate has her killing various males before she finds the right one as the first ones she finds are all deficient for one reason or another. This seductive behaviour is what earns Sil a spot in this hub.

Rose DeWitt Bukater

Kate Winslet plays Rose in that very popular movie called Titanic. As most people have seen this movie I am sure you know who I am talking about. The internal battle she has between the life that is expected of her and the new found love she has for Jack who introduces her to the possibility of another life gives her a heart warming vulnerability. That she portrayed the stately woman perfectly and also played the part of a lower deck woman so well is what includes her in this hub.

Quorra

Olivia Wilde plays Quorra in Tron Legacy. Quorra has a terrific costume, excellent fighting skills and a charming and innocent personality to match. Her banter with Sam throughout the film and especially her question about Sam having met Jules Verne was so delightfully charming, Wilde did a terrific job in bringing Quorra to light. The movie ends with her riding on the back of a motorcycle with Sam, and her seeing the real world and the sun for the first time; this performance of an ISO is so sweet and is what has her mentioned in this hub.

Lara Croft

Angelina Jolie plays Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. I had a bit of trouble picking out a fifth when this one came to mind. The scene in the movie where she has to contort to go through a laser-secured room is what has many guys salivating. Angelina's dexterity, strength and balance really bring Lara Croft to life.

Conclusion

Are there any movies that you would add if you had a list of movies like this? I am sure there are many, but these five are likely close to the top of my top 10 of such movies.

epi - in a transformers movie her call to act well is not a requirement. Thanks for stopping by!

MC, I would agree that Meryl Streep is an accomplished and brilliant actress, but I would't include her in this hub.

Oh, there are so many brilliant actresses. But let me add only one: Meryl Streep.

...well it's a good day to be a man at this particular hub - but music is like food is like the attraction to the opposite sex - purely subjective - Megan Fox looks good but she can't act worth a damn, has an attitude (sometimes it works for certain women) and has a real terrible sounding voice but then again sex appeal comes from within dosen't it .......

lake erie time ontario canada 11:02am - last Monday of August and thank you, as always, for a great thought provoking hub

I also like Jennifer Aniston but haven't really seen her in a role that would put her in a hub like this.

I agree about the character that Kate Winslet played. She was awesome. I also think that Leonardo DiCaprio's role as Jack was somehow not acknowledged as much as it should have. He too did a great job. I'm not a big Angelina Jolie fan. I think she is somehow "fake". But then again, I am a Jennifer Aniston fan and that may have something to do with it! LoL! Good Hub! :)

Indeed, that she became Dawson instead of DeWitt Bukater speaks volumes to her strength of character given how women must have been in those times.

I enjoy movies with strong female characters, whether action or not. Angelina Jolie fits the bill for most of them but I think Kate Winslet's character in Titanic was also a strong woman, going against societal norms of the day and following her heart, especially in the life she led after surviving the sinking.

I really enjoyed 'Bend..Beckham' also, but wouldn't put Keira in my top 5 and possibly not in my top 10 but yes in my top 20. Thanks for stopping by!

An interesting hub. I agree with most of your choices especially Angelina Jolie, but not so much about Kate Winslet - although it seems that I'm a minority here since almost everyone else on the comments thinks Kate is the most attractive!

I actually think the most attractive actress of all is Keira Knightly, I think she is beautiful in an elegant way while still having her own unique look. I liked her performances in "Love Actually" and "Bend it Like Beckham". Anyhow, an intereting topic, thanks for sharing.

Al, like I said above, it looks like Kate is best by popular vote, thanks for stopping by.

josh, thanks for stopping by, I agree about Halle Berry but I can't think of a movie where she stands out as much as these do in this hub.

Entertaining read, Phil, not much to disagree with you on here, though I would probably have to include Halle Berry somewhere on my list (in virtually any movie she's ever been in).

I like Kate Winslet in everything, too, also--for my money, in action films, Anjelina Jolie. As far as absolute beauty in the movies, the woman who played "Nikita" in the French film, "La Femme Nikita" really was absolutely the most photogenic person I've ever seen in film. I'll come back and stick a clip in if I can find one.

CD, yes, I think she's at the top of my list, perhaps second only to Quorra.

Deb, I just saw a preview for Hanna, I've added it to the movies I plan on seeing, thanks for stopping by!

      Tam, thanks.

Jodie Foster in pretty much every movie she is in. I think I liked Panic Room the best.

Cate Blanchett in Lord of the Rings.

I recently saw a movie called Hanna which stars Saoirse Ronan. She has amazing features.

I have to go with Kate Winslet. To me, she's the classic, natural beauty.
