Arnaba is a movie buff and a travel enthusiast. She likes to share her insight, perceptions, and experience of both.

The best movies are the ones that inspire you. If a movie is able the touch or stir the writer, entrepreneur, or the wanderlust inside you then definitively it's among the best movies. Indian Cinema A.K.A. Bollywood has its own share of movies that will inspire you to pack your bags and hit the roads.

Come fall in love with traveling with this exciting list of Bollywood movies that inspire you to travel:

1. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) (Spain)

This movie has emerged as a cult classic, inspiring people to go on road trips. The movie is not just about travel to a foreign country or road trips with friends; it is a journey of self-discovery. Not to miss is the cast, compact script, lucid screenplay, solid storytelling, and amazing direction. Overall, the movie will take you to an impressive and unforgettable journey that will teach you to value friendships, relationships, and life along with the delight of rich experience of traveling.

2. Queen (2013) (Paris and Amsterdam)

Some choices make you believe in yourself: your strength, views, opinions, and most importantly your believes. An erratic decision to go on her honeymoon alone after her groom decided to call off their marriage on the same day, helps Rani to find the perspective of her life. The movies will bestow you with a fresh outlook on traveling while strolling through the gorgeous cities of Paris and Amsterdam. You must watch this movie if you hesitate to take big steps in your life based because the world is thinking about you. Rani's journey will help you shed your coyness and sort your priorities. “Queen” will help you prioritize your opinions about you over the world’s perspective of you.

3. Tamasha (2015) (Corsica and Delhi)

Tamasha introduced the Indian audience to the beautiful country of Corsica for the first time. The beauty of Corsica blended with a spectacular story and amazing direction, acting, and the screenplay, is a perfect concoction as travel inspiration. The movie depicts the journey of a man who finds himself in the purest sense. His struggle in a world where rat race for success, career, and life is based on a rigid and inflexible formula narrated/ dictated by parents and society is heart-wrenching.

4. Dil Chahta Hai (2001) (Goa, Mumbai, and Sydney)

Have you ever been on a surprise road trip with your friends? Well, if you haven't then watch Dil Chahta Hai; it will definitely compel you to do that. In fact, ever since its release, the movie has inspired friends and families to go on road trips to Goa. Okay if not a road trip then at least visiting Goa had become a chartbuster for their bucket list. Moreover, the movie takes you to a sightseeing experience with the lead pair of the movie in a funny and funky way. The film depicts the journey of three friends discover life after their college days will test their bond, trust, and emotions. Meanwhile, all three pursue their heart and try their luck with love.

5. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) (Europe and India)

DDLJ is the epitome of love, family values, friendship goals, and travel inspiration. For more than 25 years, this movie has inspired people to meet strangers, fall in love, and embark on a new journey with them. This movie takes you to a ride through the Euro rail across various beautiful cities, towns, and hamlets across Europe. You are bound to fall in love with the scenic beauty and transpiring journey of Raj and Simran (the lead characters). Later, you experience the culture, landscape, and family values of India. The “Sarso ke Khet” and terrace rendezvous adds the spice of romance and drama, to sum up the cult classic for you. Watch this movie to fall in love with love, romance, and beauty of Europe and India.

6. Highway (2014) (Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh)

Life is full of contradictions and ironies. Who can imagine that the abduction of a bride-to-be, Veera (Alia Bhatt), could become a liberating experience for her? We do not endorse the idea of romanticizing abduction, as is the core theme of the movie. However, we must admit, the movie picturesquely depicts the concept of adventure. In fact, Veera's sense of freedom after her initial shock and fright offers an exhilarating experience to the audience. Her growing attachment with her abductor, leaves you pondering upon the diversity of relationships. It teaches you a new meaning of bonding, trust, and life.

The movie takes to the beautiful, picturesque Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh and Aru Valley in Jammu & Kashmir. Not just the mountains, even the plains of Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Delhi, reflect the spirit of the movie.

7. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) (Manali, Europe, and Udaipur)

True Friendship, first love, and first travel trip with them; this is how Naina's story begins. Through her journey and encounters with Aditi, Bunny, and Avi, we come to know the importance of a little break from our mundane daily routine. These little breaks can help us not just rejuvenate our mind and body but also our soul. Naina's little escapade to the Manali Trek helps her find a loyal friend in Aditi and her first love in Bunny. Sometimes taking an off route or attending your best friend's wedding is enough to bring huge and sweet changes in your life.

The first half of the movie is shot in Panoramic hills of Manali, midst snow and freezing wind. The latter half takes to shimmering lake Picholi and Umaid Bhavan in Udaipur. The movie will definitely inspire you to plan your next trip with your friends.

Conclusion

Traveling is not just about taking a break from the monotony of your life. Travelling is inspiration, liberation, and wings to your wanderlust soul. These movies have splendidly interpreted and illustrated travel in a new and sublime perspective.

These movies will compel you to explore various destinations but also seek your desires, aspirations, dreams, beliefs, mind, and soul. You will not only book tickets to your next travel destinations but also wander freely in your own thought and know yourself better.

Enjoy these movies with popcorn, cold/hot drinks, and your love for travel.

Very nice way of writing an article to entertain travel enthusiasts. Ms Arnaba, you have included various travel location information along with the locations associated with those movies. Liked your article to the most. Your idea of cleverly integrating associated popular entities together gives double enjoyment. Next time when I visit some of these places, certainly I can mention the movie which could gain popularity because of the location and vice versa.
