Star Wars, created by George Lucas is one of the greatest movie franchises of all time. The first installment (not chronologically) Episode IV A New Hope, coming out in 1977 was an instant hit among the fans. They made two more movies to that, being Episode V Empire Strikes Back, and Episode VI Return of the Jedi. These came out in 1980, and 1983 respectively.

Lucas decided to take a sixteen year hiatus and return with Star Wars but not following Episode VI, he wanted to make prequels to his previous movies. So, he made Episode I the Phantom Menace. This was followed by Episode II Attack of the Clones and Episode III Revenge of the Sith. In order, these movies were released in 1999, 2002, and 2005 respectively.

More recently, there have also been new Star Wars films such as the sequels The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, being released in 2015 and 2017. There are also anthology films, which depict a certain time period or person. These being Rogue One and Solo.

We shall look and summarize the prequels today, sit back and enjoy!

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

The first film in order showcases how Anakin Skywalker is found, and Obi-Wan Kenobi as a young padawan. Kenobi and his master, Qui-Gon Jinn go to Naboo for diplomatic reasons, but get attacked by the Trade Federation.

Fast forward a bit, and Anakin is finally shown on the desert planet of Tatooine as a slave with his mother. While on the planet, Jinn realizes how much force powers Skywalker has and wants to bring him to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, but he gets attacked by Darth Maul.

Unknowingly to Jinn and Kenobi, Maul is secretly Darth Sidious' apprentice, who is Senator Palpatine of Naboo. Since Sidious felt how much power Skywalker had, he wanted Maul to bring him back to him. Ultimately, Maul loses the duel and the Jedi take Skywalker to the Jedi Temple.

Questions do arise since Anakin is too old to begin his Jedi Order training as they are supposed to be infants to start. It is also shown in the movie that Skywalker is a great pod racer and space pilot, even at his young age.

Back on Naboo, the planet is being invaded by the Trade Federation and secretly Maul, so the Gungan's agree to ally with the surface people and defend the planet.

Kenobi and Jinn go to the planet and find that Darth Maul is there, and are sure he is a Sith Lord. (Sith Lord have not been seen in 1000 years at this point in time) So, the two Jedi fight Maul, and it looks like they are winning until Maul kills Jinn. This enrages Kenobi, chopping him in half 'killing' him.

Now, since Jinn is dead, Kenobi takes Skywalker as his apprentice and fellow Jedi Mace Windu states "there is always two: a master and apprentice, no more no less."

Episode II: Attack of the Clones

Set ten years after The Phantom Menace, Obi-Wan Kenobi is now a Jedi Master and Anakin has now matured and is a Jedi padawan. Also, Anakin has a romance with Senator Padme Amidala, which is forbidden in the Jedi Order.

Somebody misses an assassination attempt on Padme, so Skywalker and Kenobi chase after the assailant. They catch the person, who is named Zam Wesell, who confesses somebody told her to kill Padme. As she says who the name is, somebody shoots her dead. It is very suprising to Kenobi as she was shot with a Kamino saber dart.

This makes Kenobi do a bit of research on Kamino in the Jedi Temple Archives, but finds out somebody has erased everything about the planet. Kenobi gets help from librarian Jocasta Nu about where the planet is and goes there.

Once there, the Kamonians tell him about an experimental cloning program authorized by dead Jedi Sifo-Dyas. He informs the Jedi Council but test subject Jango Fett goes to assassinate him, and fails. Kenobi lands on Geonosis, and is captured by the Separatists, led by fallen Jedi Count Dooku.

Meanwhile, Anakin and Padme are on Tatoonine, and Anakin realizes that he mother is dead. This enrages Skywalker, making him kill many tusken raiders. A bit while later, they are in Padme's ship when Obi-Wan sends them an emergency message

Skywalker and Amidala go to Geonosis, and get captured as well. Anakin loses his light saber and all seems awful until hundreds of Jedi emerge from the arena, and save Kenobi Skywalker and Amidala.

This fight goes on for a while, battle droids surrounding the Jedi, until Yoda and the clone troopers enter the battle. Most people escape the arena, but Skywalker and Kenobi go to fight Dooku.

Dooku brutally beats the two Jedi, until Yoda comes to save the day. Dooku leaves the battle and goes to talk to his master, Darth Sidious.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Anakin Skywalker is now a Jedi Knight, and Coruscant is being invaded by Count Dooku and General Grevious. They have also captured Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, so Kenobi and Skywalker go to rescue him.

Skywalker kills Dooku, and this makes Palpatine happy as he wants Skywalker to join the dark side. The three of them are captured by General Grevious, but the two Jedi beat Grevious and cause him to retreat to Utapau.

The ship is about to crash into the planets surface, but with Anakin's skills, it is a safe landing. Padme informs him she is pregnant, with twins! This makes Skywalker very happy that he will be a father.

Kenobi is tasked to go to Utapau to stop Grevious once and for all, and at this time Yoda is told to go to Kashykk to stop a battle.

Palpatine is trying to get Skywalker to be influenced by his Sith methods and wants him to join. This scares Skywalker, and he tells the highest Jedi on the planet, Mace Windu. He is startled and believes this is the Dark Lord behind the whole war, and creates a task force to take him down.

Kenobi fights Grevious at this time, losing his light saber but manages to kill Grevious with a blaster, igniting him on fire.

Back on Coruscant, Windu goes to fight Palpatine, and the three other Jedi almost die instantly. Skywalker enters the room, and chops off Windu's hand, giving Palpatine enough time to throw him out a building.

Palpatine executes Order 66, which makes all the clones kill the Jedi, except a small few. Kenobi escapes and goes back to set a signal to warn all other Jedi not to go to the planets and go into hiding.

He finds out Anakin has fallen to the Dark Side and realizes he is on Mustafar, while Yoda fights Sidious. Yoda loses but gets picked up by Bail Organa, and go into hiding on his ship.

Kenobi beats his former apprentice on Mustafar, and leaves him to die there until Sidious picks him up. He puts Anakin in a cybernetic suit and names him Darth Vader.

Padme dies from having her kids and Kenobi agrees to watch the boy, Luke, while Bail watches the girl, Leia.
