Aishwarya Rai Lost Weight
The 2012’s festival was the first appearance made by Aishwariya after giving birth to her daughter, Aaradhya Bachan. Aaradhya Bachchan was born to parents Aishwariya and Abhishek Bachchan on 16th November 2011. It was clear from her post pregnancy appearance in front of the camera that motherhood brought major changes in the body of the former Miss World. What we appreciate most about Aishwariya is that she never tried to hide underneath a rock just because her dress size increased. To her having a healthy baby and taking care of the baby took priority over her own profession. She, very gracefully, accepted her new body instead of rushing to slim down. She seems thoroughly to enjoy her motherhood status.
Aishwarya at the 65th Cannes Film Festival - 2012
As mentioned above, the 65th Cannes Film Festival was Aishwarya's first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival after her daughter was born. Let us take a walk through memory lane by looking at what Aishwariya Rai was seen sporting at the 65th Cannes Film Festival.
Debut at the Cannes Film Festival as a mother
Compared to last year’s 65th Cannes Film Festival, this year Aishwariya Rai showed a lot of improvements with regard to her weight which she gained due to her pregnancy as well her choice of clothes for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013, we see a marked change in her face as we can clearly see from the photographs that she jawline and her face in general tightened up considerably. We see more glimpses of Aishwariya's former glorious state at the 2013 festival compared the the previous year's.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a lovely shade of teal one shoulder Gucci gown at the 66th Cannes Festival. Would you consider this gown flattering Aishwarya’s present body? I have two issues with this gown. Firstly, the piece of cloth covering her torso almost looks like they are binding her bosom to the point that her breasts look non-existent. The off-shoulder side reveals the binding material biting into her flesh underneath her arms (right side of the photograph) making her look more chubby than she actually is at the present.
Secondly, the sash right above her slightly protruding belly is not helping her image. The material with which the gown is made looks like beautiful satin and we all know how harsh satin is to bumps and unwanted body fat. The sheen on satin actually focuses on the bumps and that is exactly what happened to Aishwariya in this gown.
Now let’s look at her hairdo. Something is bizarrely wrong with her updo with this gown. The hairdo was too narrow on the sides of her scalp and too high on the crown, making her face look bloated. The one thing I did really like about the hairdo is the back part. There is a very beautifully and intricately manoeuvred braid at the nape of her neck which adds sophistication to her look.
Therefore, although Aishwariya Rai reduced a lot of the body weight accumulated during her pregnancy but the way this gown is hugging her body and the style adopted for her hair is not doing her justice.
However, the shade of lipstick used on Aishwarya is very girly and bright. It is Loreal Paris's lipstick in Crazy fuchsia no. 370.
At the 66th Cannes Film Festival for the evening gala of Bombay Talkies celebrating a 100 years of Indian cinema, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore a show-stopper black Sabyasachi legenga saree. Aishwarya is known to favour Sabyasachi designer wear in general and it was no surprise to see her in one of Sabyasachi’s signature designs when it came to celebration a major milestone in Indian cinema.
The amFAR gala celebrated its 20th year at Cannes in 2013. To celebrate this landmark, the theme was gold and to give it a touch of reality the event was hosted in order to raise money for AIDS research. Aishwarya Rai seems to have taken the gold theme to the extreme by wearing a saree, skirt and blouse in gold by designer Tarun Tahiliani. The attire had no contrast or no place to breathe except for gold. She kept her neck empty but couldn’t resist wearing a chandelier earring also in gold. She sports a hard cased purse in gold. The only thing out of the whole gold concept that she went with is the surprising colour that she used on her nails: Black. Overall the whole getup was outrageously gaudy.
Did Aishwarya nail it or break it in this Gold ensemble at the Cannes film festival?
