Amanda Knox Movie Review
Amanda Knox - Lifetime Movie
Amanda Knox, 2010, **1/2, TV-14
Starring: Hayden Panettiere, Marcia Gay Harden (plays Amanda's mom, Edda Mellas)
This lifetime original movie makes people re-think going abroad once again, for fun or college fun. Be careful, sometimes people might set you up for murder. THIS FILM IS BASED ON THE REAL LIFE AMANDA KNOX TRIAL IN ITALY.
It could happen at any college, but Amanda Knox from Seattle, WA (played by Hayden Panettiere, "Racing Stripes;" and TV's "Heroes") was convicted of 26 years of imprisonment for murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, a young British woman. Miss Kercher was sexually assaulted and then stabbed to death, in December 2009, in Perugia, Italy, where she was studying.
Just in school a few short weeks, Amanda finds a boyfriend, Italian, Raffaele
Sollecito and fits in quite well with the local scene, including finding a perfect flat (another term for apartment or condo in Europe) and meets 2 girls that would be her new roommates. Shortly after her courses start, she is in the "trial" of her life, and is still today behind bars, and going through other senarios in the courtroom, trying to free her.
From what I have read, seen on TV, and gathered from my own thoughts, I have no idea if she really murdered her roommate; however, it seems as if she was set up. I hope for an outcome in good favor very soon.
We all go through "trials and tribulations" in life, and hope for the best, and my the wrong-doers be brought to justice, NO MATTER WHAT. God bless everyone involved in this case, in any case for that matter.
