American Idol Judges 2013 - Mariah Carey vs Nicki Minaj Feud
Can you believe this? Just a few days after confirming the 2013 American Idol judges, Mariah and Nicki are already into each others' faces. Way to go, girls! This diva ego clash is just the first of many many more to come, I hope.
Today, in The View, Barbara Walters announced that she had spoken with Mariah Carey before the show and said that Mariah was very concerned by Nicki Minaj's alleged outburst saying that if she had a gun, she would shoot the bitch. I hope she wasn't referring to a female dog. That would have been so mean, wouldn't it?
What's next? Keith Urban calling Randy Jackson "yo, dawg!" Yes, ole Randy is back in the American Idol judges panel. Why? Apparently, all other deals with famous celebrities fell through, and the new season was about to start. So, the producers turned to Randy and said, "Welcome back Randy."
Season 12 American Idol Judges 2013
American Idol needed another reboot after losing its top-rated crown in TV, which it held for eight years, slipping to #2 behind "Sunday Night Football," in 2012. Ratings continued a steady decline and the 2012 May finale drew record-low ratings . I'm guessing it was due to all the sickening over the moon praises and standing ovations by the judges to undeserving contestants last season. What a joke. I, for one, got turned off, and I was a die-hard Idol fan.
Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez dropped out as judges of American Idol. So, good riddance to Steven and JLo.
First New Judge to Sign - Mariah Carey
On July 23, 2012, five-time Grammy Award winning superstar Mariah Carey signed a one year $18 million contract with Fox as an American Idol 2013 judge.
Two More New Judges Signed - Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban
Just hours before auditions for the show started in New York, Fox confirmed that rapper Nicki Minaj and country singer Keith Urban had joined as the newest celebrity judges in 2013 American Idol.
Nicki Minaj, 29, has dominated the hip-hop world since debuting in the music scene in 2010, having had multiple hit records, is rumored to be making $8 million as a judge on the show.
Keith Urban, 44, is a four-time Grammy winner who boast sales of 15 million albums. He was a judge/coach in the Australia’s version of ‘The Voice’ last year. He is rumored to be making $4 million.
Randy Jackson is back for his twelfh season as American Idol Judge
Randy Jackson is an American bassist, singer, Grammy Award winning producer, music manager, A&R executive, and television personality.
He is one of the original judges on American Idol (from 2002 to present) and Executive Producer for MTV's America's Best Dance Crew.
Randy has been known to say "Yo, dawg" a lot.
Randy has been the lead judge since season 10, and he seems to approve of his new fellow judges. This is Randy's twelfth season as American Idol judge.
So, there you go. Quite an impressive panel of judges. I, for one, am looking forward to watch the new judges fight with one another.
Let the game begin.
