"Beowulf" on Blu-ray & DVD
Beowulf (2007)
One of the early adapters of the latest 3D technology, director Robert Zemekis'
"Beowulf" brings back to life the ancient fable of a monster and the
man charged with killing it. Computer animated motion-capture technology
(similar to what Zemekis used to
make "The Polar Express") is used to transform the actors into their
cinematic alter-egos, with Roy Winstone as the
heroic Beowulf, Crispin Glover as the
monster Grendel and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother. A fun ride
filled with action, this is no scholarly retelling of the classic tale!

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
Based on the 1990s video game, "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" was Angelina
Jolie's first foray into the action blockbuster, and she did not
disappoint! She lends her toned-up curvaceousness as the buxom Lara
Croft, aristocrat and swashbuckler, who must prevent a secret society
from destroying the world. This involves lots of stunts and daring
adventures in outlandish locales. A fun ride if you can avoid trying to
take any of it seriously!
