'Avengers: Endgame': The Ultimate Comeback Story
'Avengers: Endgame' is the latest MCU movie directed by the great Joe and Anthony Russo. This films stars everyone who we already know: RDJ as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk... among many many others.
This is strictly a spoiler-free review. I have thought about what to write because this movie is so hard to talk about without spoilers. However, I don't want to spoil ANYTHING. This movie is absolutely amazing and it needs to be seen in theaters! If you have not watched this film yet... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? GO SEE THIS FILM RIGHT NOW!
Okay, where to start? This movie had so much riding on it. People like me have grown up with these movies. I fell in love with these characters with each new movie. This movie is 11 years in the making with each film contributing to this conclusion. That in itself is amazing, that a company can produce movie after movie to create a huge story. If this film had sucked, there would have been riots in the streets! The Russo brothers had high expectations from fan boys such as myself. For me, they delivered it all the way. There were so many moments that I have been wanting to see that I finally got to see on the big screen. It's almost like the Russo brothers were listening to us and said, "You want to see this? Here you go. Oh, you want to see that? Boom- there it is!" The brothers hit a home run with this film. Now in my personal opinion, the Russo brothers created some of the best MCU movies in the entire franchise with 'Winter Soldier', 'Civil War', 'Infinity War', and now 'Endgame'. They have turned these characters and given them a little extra that makes me love them more and more. They gave the characters so much depth in order for us to feel for them as if we knew them personally. 'Endgame' is the perfect superhero movie. After watching it I called back home to talk to my brother, who had also watched the movie, and had a two hour conversation about it. We went on and on about how much we loved the movie. It is a three hour long movie that feels like two hours. I mean, this movie never slows down.
Now without giving away any spoilers, after the first ten minutes of the movie I had no idea where the direction was going. They kept everything so secret about this movie that they kind of threw us a curve ball. I loved that about it. I loved going into this movie thinking I knew what was going to happen, then being thrown a whole different direction. It made me sit up in my seat and pay attention to everything that was happening. I was so curious to what was going to happen next that I was totally invested in the story.
This movie wrapped up the Infinity Stone story line to a tee. Robert Downey, Jr. delivers so much heart to his performance. It is obvious how much this character is close to his heart. He gives one of his best performances of his career as Iron Man. I wouldn't change a thing about this movie. I had a total blast watching these heroes struggle with defeat and the aftermath of the famous snap. This was a perfect conclusion to everything that has been leading up to this thus far. The last hour of the movie will go down in history as the greatest cinematic adventure. I am so happy that I was on for the ride for the last 11 years. The Russo brothers took so many risks with this film... that I can not talk about, but you know what I'm talking about if you've seen it. There were so many risks that could have gone so bad, but they worked so well. These heroes are dear to my heart and it was amazing to see how the Russo brothers tie up the conclusion the way they did. It was sentimental to be there opening night for such a record-breaking weekend. There isn't much else to say that hasn't already been said. Go see this movie. NOW!
