Barfi: Don't worry, be 'Barfi-Happy'

In a time, when a commercial hindi film is considered incomplete without an item song-and-dance number by most of the producers, there comes a breeze of fresh air in the form of film ‘Barfi’.

‘Barfi’ is like a piece of art made into a film. It is beautifully made with picturesque locations of North Bengal in india, excellent performances by all the lead actors and mind-blowing music. It is a film, which can be called ‘perfect cinema’ played by ‘not-so-perfect characters’ as per the norms of our society.

The hero of the film is a deaf and dump boy who is full of life and enthusiam. He is so fun-filled that there is no room for sympathy for him being deaf and dump, instead he teaches an important lesson to the audience. The lesson is to live life to the fullest amidst penury, tragedy or a heart break. Among the two heroines, one plays the role of a girl with autism, and other girl is indecisive and falls prey to the norms of the society.

‘Barfi’ is an unusual Bollywood film. The film has been written and directed by Anurag Basu who is famous for films like ‘Life in a Metro’. The stars of ‘Barfi’ are Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’ Cruz. The music of the film has been composed by Pritam. The storyline of the film is set in 1970s. The film has been shot in Darjeeling and Kolkata in India.
