Nice Hub! I love Netflix and I agree with your selection. Actually, the only show listed that wasn't already in my queue (or that I haven't already watched) was The Damages. It looks good so I might check it out. Also, two additions I would make are Spartacus and Dexter. They aren't exactly family shows, but they are highly entertaining! Unfortunately, I think only the first season or so of Dexter is available on streaming. Although Spartacus should all be available. I'd be interested to see your top streaming movie picks!

Thanks Annie, you should really check out Damages. It is one of my favorite shows now that I have discovered in on Netflix. I was going to add Dexter to the list, but realized that Netflix no longer streams it :( . I'll have to check out Spartacus, I have to admit I've never seen it. I'm working on my movie picks hub now, hopefully it will be done soon. I have so many movies to choose from, its really hard to decide on just 10.

      Thanks for the tips.

Although, I have to say I have been very disappointed with Netflix streaming for the last year or so. To warn people Netflix has a bad habit of not having the entire run (Downton Abbey and Dexter) or dropping shows when you are in the middle of watching them (james bond and Lost).

I know this is because of contracts issues. Now that Amazon, Blockbuster, Hulu, and other companies entering the streaming arena it has gotten even worse. Just a warning for those who are thinking of watching series that have been on the air for a while. If you plan on taking your time you may lose it halfway through.

Hi Dominick, unfortunately you are right. Due to contracts and such many series do get dropped from Netflix. As of right now all the shows mentioned above are on Netflix, and I have not heard any rumors of them leaving.

The other thing that happens is that the TV networks will only release a few seasons rather than all of them. They do this because it has been shown that Netflix helps create regular viewers for the show. Madmen is a perfect example of that. They only have 4 seasons on Netflix, but there has been 5 seasons on TV. However, AMC has found that people who watch on Netflix will begin to watch on TV where they make more money with ads.
