Best TV shows to watch instantly on Netflix Ireland & Netflix UK
UK & Ireland Netflix
Below you will find the best TV shows to watch on the Irish and UK version of Netflix. I will update the page whenever I find something new and worthwhile. Just keep in mind, that this article is only for the UK and Ireland version of Netflix.
Orphan Black
Do you like a realistic action show with a touch of science fiction? Then look no further. This show is amazing. Tatiana Maslany has to be one of the most talented actresses around. The show does involve cloning but it really doesn't push it to a silly extent. The action is realistic and the storyline is wonderful. It may be little known in many circles, but for myself and my wife, it is one of the best shows we have ever seen. As of now Netflix Ireland and UK only has season 1 which is disappointing and I am check in regularly to see if the 2nd and 3rd have been updated. As for you? There's nothing left for you to do now except for giving it a try!!
Story Pace: Quick.
Mood Rating: In the mood for an exciting, addictive show.
Rating: 9.5/10
Better Call Saul
If you've watched breaking bad and loved it, then this is a necessity. Saul Goodman and his background story might sound a bit quirky at times, but after watching the first few episodes, some will enjoy this show more than breaking bad.
Bob Odenkirk gives a much better performance than in Breaking Bad and I admit, that I started watching it as a cynic, and yet now I can't wait for season 2.
Story Pace: Steady
Mood Rating: In the mood for a thought provoking, slightly quirky journey.
Rating: 9/10
The Tudors
Back when this was first released to TV, I tried to watch it. Maybe it was that I was younger then or maybe it was that waiting for it to appear at 9 o'clock every week was too much. I'm not sure. Yet here we are a few years later and I'm giving it another whirl. And to be honest, having watched Game of Thrones and some other similar shows since, I am quite enjoying this.
There are quite a few famous faces including Natalie Dormier (Game of Thrones) and Jonathon Reese Meyers who assisted in making this historical story into a quality production. It's paced well, is mostly true to history and has some shocking scenes here and there. If you can't wait for Game of Thornes to start again in April, I'd say that you should give this a whirl. I haven't watched it all yet, but I know that there are a good few seasons/series to keep you going.
Show Pace: Steady
Mood Rating: In the mood for a historic, thought provoking show that does need your close attention to follow. There will be 15 men named Thomas and 12 Mary's.
Rating: 8.5/10
Sense8
Sense8 starts slow but soon picks up pace. Right off the bat, I'd like to mention that things get really weird in some scenes of this show, so it's not for the faint hearted. If you like orphan black you'll love this. And I really can't say too much about it without running the storyline.
The story involved telepathy, love, bigotry, action, kindred spirits, multi cultural understanding, and by the end of the season (yes, their is only one season), you'll have it on the list of shows that you'll be waiting for the next batch to fall onto netflix.
Show Pace: It builds speed from a slow start
Mood Rating: Thought provoking, with balanced action.
Rating: 9/10
