Betty White’s Off Their Rockers You’ll Laugh Until You Cry, Your Jaw Hurts, or Almost Tinkle Yourself
The Funniest Show EVER
Hysterical !! OK, this show has got to be the funniest I have ever seen, and at my age that’s a lot of tv. I adore Betty White to begin with especially her new show Hot in Cleveland, which is what I was originally going to write about. Then when I was searching through recently added on Hulu and saw Betty White’s Off Their Rockers I thought it was an interview at first. When I saw the description and it was part 2, I had to check it out. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that hard in my LIFE. It will absolutely make you laugh until you cry. I couldn’t wait and went right back and watched the pilot after part 2, again hysterical!
What's the Show About?
The show is NBC’s version of Belgium's Benidorm Bastards It is a continuous and I mean continuous staging of pranks that Betty sets up on the “young and impressionable” as she calls them. The greatest part of it is it’s all done by her senior citizen cast and has the highest level of unbelievable situations which lead to a lot of “What the %#^*?” and “Oh my God.”
Just to give you an idea there is one clip where these skateboarders are hanging out on a set of steps (all of which can’t be out of their twenties) and this senior citizen walking by with a cane and carrying a skateboard walks up drops the cane, and shows off his stuff on the board. Just watching him and their reactions is amazing. If you watch a couple of the videos you'll see what I mean.
One of the greatest parts is that there are no “Your on Candid Camera” type moments, to let them know they’ve been had. I’m sure there is afterwards for releases, etc., but it allows the show to just keep blasting them and I’m telling you I had to pause the video to give my jaws a break Of course Betty has a few little clips in between but even those keep you on the floor. Then they hang banners off of overpasses while waving flags over the interstate with include such sayings as “STD Free Since 1953,” and others that your going to have to watch to see.
Of course the main star is Betty White, but the cast who play most of the pranks which are Michael Alaimo, Lou Beatty, Jr., Ann Benson, Nick De Mauro, Reatha Grey, Richard Herd, Sheila Korsi, Joan Kushell, Emilie Melonas, Richard Reicheg, Peg Shirley, Ron Southart, and Michael Yama are just sensational. I have to tell you these guys are amazing and never miss a trick. The theme song is “Were Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister and is really so appropriate when you see the show.
What's Next?
For me waiting until next week and giving my jaws a break. For you, watch a few of the short videos and if you want to laugh until you cry, your jaw hurts, or until you almost tinkle yourself go to NBC or Hulu and check out the rest of the show. It’s free for now so you might as well watch it with family and friends or both.
What ever you do don’t miss the end of the show for Betty’s “Pearls of Wisdom.” I gotta tell you at 90 I don’t see how she does it and can only hope I have half her gumption at that age.
